Sniper 702 you are correct.  USC has a first year starter at quarterback.  Look at the difference in experience and athletes around Barkley and Coburn.  USC will have all five offensive lineman drafted un the NFL in the first two rounds.  Just have to take into consideration the totality of the group around these guys

I am playing this game for a few reasons.  1. Fresno is improved greatly this year over the last few years.  2. Hill is a solid coach who knows how to get his players up for big games.  3. Boise is on the road for the first time.  4. Just because Boise rolled it up on Miami(Oh) doesn't mean a thing.........They only mustered 18 at home against Oregon..........I like the dog and the under here.  I think the books rake the table on the over and cover players. 
 
I'll just stick to a small play on Fresno.

I was the same way last night with the G-Tech/Miami game.  I was affraid that Miami's D could not contain G-Tech's triple option attack.  But after the first series for G-Tech you could see the adjustments made by Miami and it was over from there on out.
 
Now for Boise State's D, they played really well against Oregon and shut that running game down allowing only 31 yards rushing with 17 attempts(1.8 APR).  We all know what happened after that game(Blount). Oregon went 1-10 on 3rd down atttempts and 0-2 on 4th down attempts(Amazing).  Boise allowed only 152 total yards for the entire game.  Time of Possession 42:32 to 17:28. 
 
If Boise State can control the football like they did in the Oregon game and be efficient(10 of 20 on 3rd down attempts; 22 FD to only 6 for Oregon) this game is a no brainer. 
 
My fear is the actual line.  Why is it only -7.5 and some casinos have it at -8 with them being ranked 10th in the nation?   The last time the line was like this going into Fresno was back in 2003 when Boise State was ranked 20th in the nation.  The line was -8 Fresno State LOST.  The final score was 31-17.
 
I'm leaning with Boise State @ half -4 for 2.5 units and Boise State -7.5 for 5 units. Not yet ready to pull the trigger.  Got to think more about this one.

I like Fresno St in this one but that last game they went into overtime with Wisconsin made me fear that Fresno will be burnt out for this Big Rival game.

I love to wager on Boise St all the time but like I said earlier I have a funny feeling that Fresno might catch Boise St sleeping and pull out an SU victory.

So I looked at the total cause I wanted the over and I'm hesitant at that one as well but I rather take the over than choose a side on this one..

Actually take away the Oregon and Wisconson games and looks
pretty tight the fact that the Broncos scored 51 un answered last year is my key. Broncs 1st half full game and second half. 3 units

This is the most important game in Pat Hill's career. Following last year's 61-10 debacle (Broncos scoring 51 2nd half points), the BULLDOGS HAVE TO SHOW UP and win the WAC opener.  There's no other way around it.  Boise St. has a strong secondary so I expect Fresno St. to run the ball with their 19th ranked rushing offense and gamebreaker Mathews to start and throw quick outs and slants to keep the safeties from cheating inside the box.  Bulldogs are 31 slots higher in total offense than Boise St. and we should see the passing game open up in the second half, irregardless of the score.  Teams are ranked 28th and 29th in pass efficiency defense, no advantage again for Boise St. 
 
Broncos will likely counter with their balanced offensive attack, throwing the ball with Kellen Moore, and Pettis and Young at the receiving end.  Harper and Avery are good versatile running backs but not gamebreakers, and can't catch the ball out of the backfield (0 receptions), an obvious advantage for Fresno St.'s 29th ranked pass efficiency defense.  Also, both teams aren't good at getting to the QB, having recorded 1 sack each in first two games.
 
Believe me, Hill will have his team fired up for this one, he has no choice really.  Boise St. doesn't play well outside their friendly turf, and could very possibly lose this game.

I hate going against you BigDaddy but I've got to stick with Boise.  I believe the chance for a BCS bid outweighs any letdown here.  All signs point towards Boise St big tonight.  Boise St 38 - 13....in my humble opinion.
