    Why is the over under at 54 1/2? That seems very high. How many points can Indiana score 10-14?? Rutgers is getting 40. I think under may be a better play than Rutgers.

    He has a right to fade me!

    We've heard it many times: If a guy is losing when posting, why drive him from the site? He has winners...when you go that other way.

    The odd thing is, he doesn't have a single reason to back Indiana...Not a good place for him...or his money.

    I do not play O/U's.

    I'll just say that it is unseasonably cold in NJ right now, about 41 degrees which favors a ground game.

    I just can't see Indy putting points on the board without a passing game as you noted. 54.5??? Not sure what Vegas is thinking. That certainly doesn't correlate with a line of -7!

    Vegas is saying 30-23. I doubt Indiana can get there. What about Rutgers, won't they run the ball especially with a lead?

    Yes, Rutgers can run the ball too and had a nice showing on the ground against their toughest opponent: @OSU.

    If Indiana score 23 in this game I will be absolutely floored.

    They can only run the ball and this isn't Florida or Arkansas we are talking about here in terms of having an effective OLine and weapons to mix it up.

    my comment is not about the pick, rather the thought that college players want to play in most of the crappy bowl games.

    if i were on a 6-6 or 7-5 team 'awarded' one of those pre-new year's eve bowls, I would be crying.  imagine having to practice for another 3 weeks (maybe even thru Christmas), just to play in the 'famous idaho potato' or 'raycom media camellia' bowl against the fourth 'best' team from the mac or the sunbelt.  to make it even worse, the coaching staff actually does want to play those games because it means more exposure for recruiting, and pay for them personally,  so they really drive the kids during those weeks of practice.

    just watch how terrible most of those early games are, and you'll realize how little the players want to be in el paso or Montgomery two days before christmas.

    Scal...excellent post.  I had a chance to see this team up close from the sidelines in C-bus and you are absolutely right.  I saw a good football team that was like a deer in the headlights just b/c of the atmosphere that they had never seen.
    OSU, Bucky, and the corn palace are really tough places to play.  Back at home with a poor Hoosier team for a chance to gain a little respect back, I think they are well motivated.

    GL bro...see you soon in the NBA forum

    just watch how terrible most of those early games are, and you'll realize how little the players want to be in el paso or Montgomery two days before christmas.

    You've got it all wrong when it comes to Rutgers.

    Lived by Rutgers my entire life.

    There was virtually no shot for them ever to get to a BCS bowl (they came close once and blew it to WVU).

    These 'nothing' bowls you speak of are the pride and joy of Piscataway.

    A victory in the Guacamole Dip Bowl will get a ticker-tape parade around here and more importantly, Rutgers participation in them will get coaching staffs extensions or fired.

    The games that hinge on getting to them (not necessarily the game itself where the competition is sometimes far superior) mean a great deal to this program.

    The players will come to play today at home, in their inaugural Big 10 year, to show the conference they can go bowling right out of the gate.

    OSU, Bucky, and the corn palace are really tough places to play.  Back at home with a poor Hoosier team for a chance to gain a little respect back, I think they are well motivated.

    A good number is only a good number if the team covers. This play was always in jeopardy once he declared it unbeatable. That's Covers 101.

    Wow, what an ugly, unlucky end to the 1st half.  14 point swing.  I still think RU can cover.  Nova needs a bit of o-line help and he'll pick Indiana apart.

    4 quarters in a game man.

    15 pt lead heading into the 4th.

    Just guard against breakaway runs from Coleman and they will run the clock out themselves.

    @summa
    @fade - I was leaning over a toilet after the last 30 seconds of the first half!

    @capt - what's the line? +3 Jets ;)

    Nice win, bud.  Never really in doubt the entire second half.
