Damn, college football flew by this year!! Hope everybody enjoyed the season, I got up big, lost it back, and am currently up a couple hundred or so, definitely nothing to get excited about. I will be going pretty big on this one though....
Hawaii +11.5....Hawaii needs to win this SU in order to make their shitty bowl game. Wisky views this as a glorified vacation. And check this out: My Spartans played @ Hawaii about 5 years ago or so and Hawaii needed the win in order to clinch a bowl game. Sparty opened up a 21-7 lead and then the officiating became unbelievably biased in favor of the Rainbow Warriors. Michigan State finished the game with 16 penalties after averaging about 5 a game all season. Hawaii came back to win SU as a 7-point 'dog. I'm not saying Hawaii wins SU, but catching 11.5 and potentially having the refs on our side look very appealing, and I will take my chances on the ML for a half-unit or so. Good luck ya'll!!!!!

like it...but wisconsin should come out pretty focused and fired up. Will take 11.5 and hope for a good game. GL
Why would Wisconsin be fired up for this game? Out of conference game, nothing on line. Beating Hawaii would prove what exactly? If the badgers cover this game it would based on talent alone.

Agreed. But may thinking is that they are pretty salty from the Northwestern game and had to think about that for 2 weeks. The coaching staff should have them ready but 11.5 may be a bit too much. GL to us bc if I do play this...I'll definitely be taking the points.

like it , watched the Navy game , i expected Navy to win the game , Navy is a good team , on the par of Wisconsin , Hawaii is playing very well , looks like a different team in last 4 games

Agreed. I don't even know if talent alone is enough to cover this. This reminds me of an NFL game being played by a team that is resting starters for the playoffs. Wisky is not interested in this game and Hawaii's season is on the line.

Yeah officiating. Ask Izzo why he got his ass kicked when he decided to play Hawaii on his way to the Maui Classic a few years ago. He couldn't blame the officating so he blamed it on dehydration. There is always an excuse when the big boys come and lose. How else are they going to expalin a loss to a shitty team from a shitty conference? Aretird basketballcoach has always stated "that the University of Hawaii has never beaten anybody in Honolulu; it's always the officals, Waikiki, travel, time difference, etc."
Anyhow, Hawaii has since hired PAC 10 oficals because of the pissing and moaning from Michigan St. So if Wisky gets jobbed they can call the PAC 10 crooked. I like your pick and believe that they will play well. The Navy game was the best they've played all year andseem tobe coming together in time tomaybe qualify for the"shitty bowl game".
Hey Wahoo, you've been bring up the officating for years now. did you lose a chunk on the Michigan St game?

Well, I'm glad we agree on the pick . You make a lot of good points, but why does Hawaii suck at basketball and football when they come to the mainland? I remember the loss by MSU basketball that season a few years ago, and yes they blamed it on dehydration. I'm not one for excuses either, but how about the Rainbow Warriors make a visit to the Breslin Center in East Lansing? That would be a helluva game I would honestly lay 40 points with Sparty in that game and feel confident as hell!!!

Ha, you've got to be kidding me right? Dudes, Wisky is going to run all over this Hawaii team with focus, determination, and reckless abandon and Hawaii ain't gonna be able to do anything about. PLEASE, PLEASE, do your research on these games before you come posting on here without any solid data to back it up.
Here are some pointers from the research I've done:
Hawaii worst red zone offense in the WAC converting only 60.7%
Hawaii with worst red zone defense allowing opponents to score 89.7%
Hawaii has allowed 30 sacks on the season
Hawaii has only sacked opposing QB's 17 times this year, meaning d-line can't get to the QB all that often
Hawaii 3rd worst rushing defense in the WAC allowing 2323 yards, only ahead of SJSU and NMST
Hawaii with a Turnover margin of -9
Hawaii's desperate need to win this game will force them to take chances over and over which will result into turnovers.

Yeah, you're right. The team with more impressive statistics covers the spread in every game don't they? This handicapping thing has nothing to do with situations, travel, weather, magnitude of the game, styles of play, referees, injuries, etc. All that matters is stats right

Bense - you have to take all of that into consideration too. Not doubting what you are saying. However, in this part of the season, people tend to lose focus on the wealth of data that is available to them about these teams. Take advantage of it. What the information is telling me and watching both teams play, Wisconsin is going to dominate both lines of scrimmage. Wisconsin is going to probably get about six yards per carry, at least. They will run and score at will on Hawaii. Wisconsin will dominate time of possession. Hawaii will struggle to score as indicated by how bad they are in the red zone. By the second half, Hawaii's defense will be so tired from being on the field and being pounded by that Wisconsin offensive line. Trust me bro. Wisconsin is going to dominate this game.
Forget about Michigan State and Northwestern and all of the others that went through there and got beat. That was a different time and era.
This game is probably the easiest pick of the entire week. Take Wisconsin.

Hawaii has never made an excuse of travel, time diferences etc. after losing on the mainland. Theyt've always gone on the road and played win or lose. They suck because, well, they suck. It's just like on the return trip to play Michigan St in foots. They lost, yeah, but never once did you see the coaches say that the Michigan St. officials called a lot mnore penalties on Hawaii as compared to what was called on State. Also, if you look at Hawaii in foots, they have remained on the mainland for two + weeks at a time to play consecutive road games. They have never used that as an excuse after losing. Name one team that remains on the road longer than 3-4 days? None. It's just a unique sitauation that Hawaii is in that forces them to do what they have to do to play the games and recruit players whio have never been away from home before, let alone fly across the Pacific ocean to go to school. So as far as the travel excuse the mainland guys use, ther's no sympathy here. You get off the plane, play your best and accept the outcome as long as you played your best. I'm sure Hawaii would go to State to play basketsball. Why wouldn't they? Btw, if they did play Sparty this season, I would lay up 45, but I would be wary of the backdoor cover.

are you guys serious. wisconsin can drink the whisky and still cover this game.
have to agree with this statement here...look for a blow out similar to what Notre Damn did last year. Navy was too one dimensional and they're weren't really trying in the 2nd half. I thought it was very funny when they're down by 7 and the clock was ticking yet they still run the ball right in the middle of the defensive line even though there were literally 9 guys in the box. I'm serious about the 9 guys in the box too...I counted it.

That's what I said about Navy last week. If you looked at the numbers it indicated a Navy win with EASE. Lost my pick of the year. Hawaii looked very impressive. Refs will be on their side. Moniz did have a SHITLOAD of time to throw the ball but that may not be a fluke because the Hawaii O Line did give lots of time to their QB against Boise as well (didn't matter they got blown anyway). If I was to look at strictly numbers and style of play Wisconsin is an easy pick but with all that's at stake I don't really think it's a good idea to bet against Hawaii at home with Wisconsin having nothing to play for and Hawaii having everything to play for.

One more thing... Don't think that the "shitty bowl" doesn't mean big things. June Jones and SMU will be in the Hawaii Bowl and a Hawaii vs June Jones matchup will mean big dollars for the Hawaii Bowl and the people running it. A lot of people benefit from a Hawaii win.
