Why Washington getting 9.5 Points? Huskies already beat Ducks.

Washington has already defeated Oregon. #3 Washington vs #5 Oregon on a neutral field, This is the most important game of the year for Washington, win and your in playoffs. Anyone know something I don't?  9 points is too many for 3rd best in the nation. 

Washington of late has not played as dominantly.  Barely getting past teams and winning "at the buzzer".  Mostly at home too.

Oregon, OTOH, has been dominating everyone handily.

Oregon had some bad fortune at Washington with lots of failing on 4th down.  Had they converted one or two, this line would make sense.

I like the under here.  Wash offense has been weaker of late and Oregon defense is solid.  Important game too and I dont thnk it would be played as wide open as the first matchup

I don't want to explain it to you because bettors like me need bettors like you to see lines like this and think it's a good deal.

And I'm not being funny, I could very easily explain it. But the other reason I won't is because I've never met anyone who ever changes their mind on a pick when presented with the reasoning for the other side. Same goes for trying to argue with a pro-lifer or an anti-vaxxer. Might as well be explaining calculus to my dog.

 Perception means a lot.......Oregon has been rolling lately while Washington has just been getting the job done. It's a different mindset for a team that's chasing after a loss vs. the team that's weathering everyone's best shot while trying to overcome injuries. I completely understand the line for this game.

Come on Dave . . . . .Wash beat USC on road by 10 . . .Ducks were home and beat USC by 9 . . . . Wash beat a good Arizona team on the road . . .certainly Oregon has had more dominant wins but Wash has a better strength schedule . . . .Ducks were a play away from getting beat by Texas Tech . . .who were at midfield late trying to get in position for a winning goal and threw a pick six . . . . these teams are close on a neutral field . . . Ducks obviously could win . . but these teams are numbers 2 and 3 in yards per play . . .Ducks have bit better defense . . but against slightly weaker schedule . . .i see a one possession game . . . but if its a double digit win i would agree Oregon is team that would be the winner

 VS USC It was 42-42 UW/USC start of the 4th...it was 45-42 UW mid 4th...UW tacked on a late TD with 2 minutes to go...

Oregon led by 36-14 beginning of the 4th vs USC.... It was not even close vs USC other than a late score by USC..never once got it under 2 possessions in the 4th quarter. 

Oregon destroys Utah on the road 35-6........UW lead 35-28 in the 4th quarter at home

Oregon destroys Oregon State on the road...31-7.....UW lead Oregon state  on the road 22-20 with 2 minutes to go and Oregon state had the ball going for the win ...

Washington State had the ball at midfield vs UW with 4 minutes to go 1st and 10 ...21-21 at Washington....Holding penalty killed the drive...Wazzu should have won that game...

UW has been playing with fire vs mediocre to bad teams to end the season..U call that a college playoff caliber team...UW reminds me of a poor mans TCU team from last season that won all the close games barely... Even got lucky vs Michigan..then got obliterated by Georgia...

The only question anyone has to ask themselves is this. If the line came out at 5 would it have been bet up to 9 or if it came out at 13, would it have been bet back down to 9? Both teams are capable of winning. I have no opinion on this game right now. Good luck to all that have already placed a wager.

What can you tell us about how healthy this Washington team is right now; any idea if they are getting healthier week by week?

If +10, I might be tempted to take some action at that number.

 You left out the most salient fact:  that undefeated TCU lost in the conference championship game to K State, which it had beaten earlier. 

Ducks will come out on top.

No question Wash has played with fire much of the season . . . .but with that qb and receivers they got a shot to hang in there . . .

is Penix healthy? his accuracy has fallen WAY OFF... no expert but I've heard he's throwing off his back foot (I always thought he did... but people tell me this is new)

Penix in the injury tent at the end of the game and then him being ushered off the field under a jacket makes very little sense unless he was injured. got hit very hard on play right before that

Oregon was better than UW in that game earlier in Seattle......... not alot better but better... and the thought from most people is Oregon has got much better and UW (specifically Penix) has regressed alot.. UW pass defense has arguably improved but they have not been impressive vs. run and UO has 2 stud TB's with big rushing averages.

9-10 spread is fine. 7 points would be too light. 6.5 points way too light.

Dude, betting is more subtle than that. Here's one example - recent play vs. months ago:

"Sagarin Recent" has it Oregon by 11........ i.e. weights recent results more heavily whereas most power ratings systems (including basic sagarin) look at whole season equally.

Oregon is not a LOCK to get in even if they win on Friday..u best believe if given the chance they will make it look like a convincing win...
