Well shit, if we don't have the ref's in our pocket. Are money to buy or recruits HOW can we every win....lol.
I guess some people have another excuse when an SEC team beats a team other then beating up on theirselves surely the SEC pay-offs want affect SEC vs SEC matchup huh...lol.
What a joke!!!!

True, but the offensive lineman they are losing is the all important left tackle position. Additionally, they are losing their QB, RB, TE and best WR.
Breaking in a new QB in the SEC is always a dicey proposition. Whichever QB steps in will be far more talented than McElroy, but a whole lot less experienced.
There won't be much drop off at RB or TE. And while Bama has a plethora of talented receivers, I seriously doubt any will be dominant like Julio was.

I seriously doubt Saban will use two QBs particularly since Sims and McCarron both have pretty much the same skill set. I love how people assume that when a QB is black that he is automatically a "running" QB. LOL!!!
I use to hear Bama fans constantly refer to Star Jackson as a running QB, and he really wasn't. Sims and McCarron are both pocket passers so I don't see any reason to alternate them. If I had to guess who the better runner of the two is I would have to say Sims only because he's quite a bit bigger than McCarron. McCarron is a bit on the fragile side (at least he looks that way to me). I seriously doubt he cwould last very long running the ball in the SEC.
Sure i'm good for a beer someday Jimmy.
Star Jackson has the name for the spotlights...lol.
I see from the link you put up Alabama is doing good on recruits, but i was not expecting to see Lane Kiffin & co. doing so good being under probation.

Also surprised to see so many blue-chippers still flocking to USC.

I did predict a Bama/Florida repeat in the SECCG this pre-season, but as I said in that writeup, I picked both teams more by default than anything else.
I was not sold on a Tebow-less Gators team, but I thought they would be able to outlast the rest of the teams in the East with their talent alone. To my credit I did say that I thought South Carolina would be their toughest challenger.
I would have loved Bama in the East had it not been for the 6 conference opponents with bye weeks ahead of them. Regardless of their ridiculous schedule, I still didn't think Bama would lose more than two games. I identified the South Carolina and LSU games as the biggest potential pitfalls on the their schedule. They lost both of course. I thought that Bama would prevail in the West even with 2 losses because I thought the other teams were fairly even and would knock each other off.
I said at the beginning of the season that Auburn was a mystery team. I thought they had the potential to be really good (not national champs good), but I thought they would probably lose some games because they were breaking in a new QB. I also thought a lack of depth would really hurt them down the stretch.
Althought I don't think all of Longhorn problems were Gilbert, I still thought he would have a much better season than what he did. I am on record as predicting before the season that Gilbert would end up being better than Colt McCoy. That prediction looks pretty ridiculous now doesn't it?
I should dig out my preseason write-up and repost it for grins and giggles huh?

Zach Mettenberger was part of Georgia's 2009 class, but did not qualify acedemically so he went to Butler Community College for 2 years. He recently committed to LSU. Bama offered Mettenberger, but that offer is not a recent one. Saban offered him last summer.
Coker has been committed to Florida State since June of last year. Bama has shown no interest in him, and never extended him an offer.
Alabama has a comittment from QB Phillip Ely out of Plant City, Florida. Ely was rated a 4* prospect, but was recently dropped to 3* status last week when the latest rankings came out. Saban has no room in this class for another QB. Ely will be the QB in this class, and he is a much better fit than Mettenberger if for no other reason than he has 5 years to play 4 instead of 3 to play 2.
If Were Mettenberger I would have committed to LSU as well. He has a much better chance of seeing the field there than he does at Bama. Wise choice on his part.
After missing out on CB Malcolm Mitchell to Georgia last week, the only prospect that may get an 11th hour offer from Bama is CB Raven Floyd out of Louisiana. Word is he will commit to Bama if offered.

I haven't done a detailed analysis of every team in the SEC yet, but I'm willing to bet that Bama is losing fewer players than anyone else in the conference. After all they were one of the youngest teams in college football last season. Their losses are primarily on the offensive side of the ball. Their defense will be absolutely sick next season. They WILL be the top defense in the nation.
The SEC West race will be amongst the two most talented teams, LSU and Bama. I really like Dan Mullen and Mississippi State, but I just don't think they will have the QB play and overall depth to get it done.
If Florida State keeps pulling in top 5 recruiting classes, they will own the ACC for years to come. Nobody in the conference can come close to matching their recruting classes.
Oregon and Stanford will be interesting again next season. With the opulent facilities Nike has built in Eugene, they are also attracting top-notch talent. They are going to be very tough to deal with in the PAC whatever for years to come.

Looks like Bosie State gets their wish playing an SEC team for their 1st game, i hope Richts kicks ass. Georgia stepped up to the plate with Bosie State saying nobody will play them. It's hard to beat Georgia between the hedges, i don't care if they did have a bad past year.
Bosie State defense will be tuff they have not lost many players from 2010. QB Moore lost his 2 best WR's.

I don't like this Georgia team under Richt at all. In fact in the preseason posted a promised to myself that I would not bet on Georgia the entire season. Nevertheless, I broke that promise in week 4 when I sided with them when they play Mississippi State in Starkville and loss.
First let me mention Georgia's recruiting. Richt has really gotten off of his ass this year and done a good job of holding serve in his own state - a state that is always loaded with talent. Their recruiting class is currently ranked 9th in the nation, and they should move up a little by national signing day particularly if 5* RB Isaiah Crowell commits and signs with them as I expect him to.
There is still a chance Auburn may open up their checkbook and buy him at the wire like they've been doing quite frequently the last couple of years, but I still think he'll end up at the home school. The RB position is really a position of need for Georgia so Crowell is really a must get for them.
The real dark horse in the Crowell race is Bama, but I honestly think that would be a bad move for Crowell considering Bama has already pulled even higher rated 5* RB Dee Hart. Furthermore, don't be shocked if Bama pulls Barry Sanders, Jr. in next year's class. I think if Crowell goes to Bama, he'll have a hard time getting on the field, and I think he knows that.
Richt also just pulled the #1 rated CB in the nation Malcolm Mitchell right from under Saban's nose. With Saban's tack record with DBs, and the fact Bama has no CBs in their 2011 class, I really liked Bama chances with him, but it was not to be. Outdueling the master recruiter Saban for a prized CB prospect was very impressive indeed.
But talent has never really been the problem at Georgia. They are consistently one of the most talented teams in the country. Their problem is a lack of discipline which leads to a lack of consistency, which leads to consistently under achieving. The lack of discipline has been evident in their near last rankings in both penalties turnover margin in the '08 & '09 seasons. Not sure where they ended up in 2010, but I believed they did improve significantly in both catagories and that certainly is a positive sign.
But ultimately Georgia reminds me of Alabama in the last couple of seasons under the Shula regime. From discussions I've had with players who were on those Bama teams, the inmates were basically running the asylm. Guys weren't working out, weren't going to class, and were basically more concerned with their social calenders than they were playing football. Those Bama teams were very soft, and absolutely could not win games in the 4th quarter.
Richt reminds me a lot of Shula. Nice young, handsome Christian guy who is very hard to dislike as a person, but has no control of his team. And once you lose control of a team, it's very, very difficult to get it back because it really comes down to a matter of respect. If the players lose respect like the Bama players did for Shula, those players are lost for good. You'll never get them back. You can't go from being soft one year, and re-making yourself into a tough disciplinarian the next. That'll work with the new guys, but it won't play well with the old heads who know better. Like the Shula days at Bama, Richt's Georgia teams have taken on the soft personna of their coach. That was particularly evident in their bowl game against Central Florida.
I've been saying for a couple of years now that I think Georgia needs to send Richt packing and bring in a disciplinarian who can recruit. If Georgia gets that, with the talent they bring into that program, they will be a consistent force in SEC.
