Ou's defense is the best it has been in years, and you can't dispute that. That have more talent on both sides of the ball. Don't you think Ou seen what happens when you get pressure on Jacoby.

^^^that could be the most error filled post I have heard or seen on this site in a long, long time
Now a novice coach is better then Stoops and company? (granted, stoops has lost quite a few BCS games)...the U has more talent up and down the roster then OU??? Are you really being serious? The same U team that was mediocre last year and got pasted by Va Tech?? It would not have mattered if it rained or not in blacksburg last weekend...the U was physically dominated and tech easily, easily ran the ball right down their throats. The U defense will have no answer for OU's offense, UNLESS their front 4 can get pressure - that will be the key to this game imo...if they cannot generate pressure consistantly on Landry (I assume he will start), it will be a long, long day in sunny south florida. Also, I am quite confidant OU's defensive speed will be more then adequate to hold the U offense to at least 7 points less then the Sooner O...this might be my only play of the week I feel so good about it

haven't people lost their asses over the past few years betting OU in "big" games ? Stoops has come up small again and again. Miami is not as bad as that game at VT and OU has let people down over and over.

Here's my 2 cents . Okla . has scored 15 td's and given up 2. Miami has scored 10 ,and given up 8. Oklahoma's off and def is reted beter that Miami. In the three games played Okla. scored 40 to 4,and Miami scored 26 to 27.
Oklahoma -7

First: I'm a diehard Miami fan, as most know by now, and I can see how / why this line is set where it's at. It makes sense to me, as everybody saw the Canes get embarrassed vs VT last week on national television. Like somebody earlier said, 'now people think Miami is no good.' Well that's not the case, guys. Miami is still a good team with a ton of young talent. I'm not using the downpour as an excuse last weekend, but I will say it totally hindered Miami's offense. This year's team rely's on mismatches in the passing game and getting WRs to run open all over the field. Last wee, WRs were still getting open but apparently Jacory can't throw worth a crap in down pouring rain and there were a lot of drops....very key drops at that! Miami got dominated the first half. Everything went bad and they came out flat. If you recall, Miami came out in the 2nd Half and scored quickly to make that game 21-7. They got a 3 and out, drove to Va Tech's 30 yard line and Jacory threw a perfect pass to the TE at Va Tech's 10 yard line....and he dropped it. Next play: Another WIDE OPEN pass to the same TE, Jimmy Graham (basketball player) that goes for a TD and the focker drops it again. That would have cut it to 21-14 with momentum favoring Miami. Ok, 4th down, Miami gets 10 yards and they needed 13....turn the ball over and VaTech rips off a huge 44 yard run and score on that drive.....game / momentum over. The score and 1st half indicate that UM got totally destroyed, which isn't exactly true, but whatever. 'So Miami sucks' all of the sudden. Let's drop -7 with OU on a road game, being played in a sold out stadium, and it's a Nationally televised Night Game. Hmmmmm. I dunno everything, but I know Miami comes to play in these big games when they are nationally televised and they are night games. Anything can happen, but to think OU walks in there and wins in a blowout is kinda silly.
All that being said, OU scares me. Miami's secondary is totally suspect, but I want Bradford to play and be 100% healthy. BYU threw all over OU, even though the score would not indicate that, and Miami runs a much more complex offensive scheme. This defense has faced a spread attack when they played Florida St., and if you recall, Christian Ponder was on motherfreaking fire the entire 1st Half of that game. He completed everything. However, Miami was set up in an offense that keyed on Ponder's running, not his throwing. This is because Miami got thrashed by Ponder's running the year before, so their mentallity was "We'll make him throw and not let him kill us with the run again." This is also why Miami only blitzed maybe 3 times vs. FSU....and it was effective each time. That was against one of the better O-Lines in the Country, and they got to Ponder. This will be a different Miami defense, as they don't have to worry about Jones / Bradford taking off and running like they did with Ponder. I assume we'll see much more blitzing vs. a weaker offensive line than compared to Florida St and the DBs won't be playing 10 yards off the OU WRs. Also, starting safety Telmaque should be playing this week and D. VanDyke should be healthy enough to come back and start at CB. I have read that Marcus Forston, who sat out vs. VaTech and is the big DT run stopper is practicing and probably for OU as well.
I'm NOT saying Miami wins this game. I might say that if I knew that Miami's o-line could handle complex blitzes, but they clearly can't. I saw that vs. FSU and also vs. VaTech. They struggle big time with those damn blitzes and Jacory needs to know when to just throw the ball away, but he's still young. It's only his 4th game coming up. On the flip side, OU has had problems with blitzes as well. Basically, these two teams are almost mirror images of each other. FSU threw all over Miami / BYU threw all over OU. Miami has the advantage as far as playing tougher competition up to this point. They also have an advantage with a home game at night, with an already sold out stadium for this game. So who do I take? Absolutely nobody!! I could cap and analyze this game all week and I'll get the same answer: It could go either way. I'm waiting to check out the Total for this game and maybe hit that up. Hopefully OU's highly ranked defense and Miami's bad performance last week will make this total be set low....like low to mid 50s, and I will pound that Over in a heartbeat. As long as it's not a down pour, Miami's offense will put up points......but the defense will also give up points.

Haha...Canes fan here so I love reading post like this. Kills me how a team plays Tulsa and Idaho St then they have their "swagger" back (speaking of swagger how about we find a new word, just a thought) Still tons of football left so no telling what can happen, all I know is I'm excited my boys made it out of that stretch of games 3-1. Not to say the U is back but we are definitely on the way!
