Week 9 Money

You have your opinion, and that is fine.  I can tell you for a fact that Phil Savage, who is one of the best in the business, says Jevan is still a middle of the 1st round guy.  I will ask him about Ponder tomorrow, and get his opinion there.  If he says Ponder will be a better pro, I will eat crow.  I will let you know what he says.

I agree that besides Oxford, the state of Mississippi is pretty crappy, especially Starkville. Same as Louisiana and Alabama for that matter.  No, I’m pretty happy living in Texas.

Really, it doesn't matter what people think about who or what. Not me, Wahoo, you or anybody. LEAF was supposed to be the best thing walking, and look what happened? Unless they prove it, then nothing matters what somebody says. Snead isn't proving anything, and Ponder puts up good numbers every game, but just happens to be on the wrong end of the game.

I love this card.  In fact, I played them all - except Wyoming and FIU - in a round-robbin. 

You stole my thunder on Ponder.  I was going to say something similar in my "notes" for the week.  I like him better than any of the other "pro-style" QB's I've seen.

Would like to know your take on Kansas @ Texas Tech.  The Red Raiders looked absolutely pathetic without "sticks" on Saturday. They really seem to be a different team w/o Sheffield. 

Regardless of the their performance the last 2 weeks, I consider Kansas a vastly superior team to Texas A&M.  With Kansas coming off two losses and now their shot at the Big 12 North title slipping away. This is a must win for them. I respect the hippo Mangino greatly as a coach, I can't see the Jayhawks losing this game on Saturday.

Why didn't the Jayhawks make it onto your card?

as far as Kansas/Texas Tech is concerned, I was told Sheffield could actually play this Saturday, I will find out more this afternoon, if he is for sure out, then I like Kansas and will bet them at + 7.5

I haven't much of Ponder, I was extremely impressed with him, he is one of the more impressive "pro style" QB's out there, seems like a great prospect (not sure what his actual size is)

I think you can make a case that USU is the most under-rated team in the country.  Fresno looked disinterested last week.  Let's hope they do that again.

No interest in UK?  They'll win.  Wouldn't think MSU's got much left in the tank after a month or so on the high-wire.

I left UNC alone.  It's just a crappy spot all the way around for the Heels.  It's also no fun being one-dimensional against Polytech, and I'm not even sure UNC has one dimention.

that is awesome you just mentioned UNC, I just dropped them thinking that will be an awful bet to follow knowing that Va Tech is going to win the game, but praying for a low scoring defensive battle and the cover, well, no thanks, I opted to pass and make it a 7 pack

I played UK at -3 (-120) at BM last night, and -3  (-112) at MB today. 

I played Temple last night, though I don't think that number is going to move much.  TU's numbers don't really jump off the page, but their results are hard to argue with.  They "won" this same game last year, except that couldn't execute the Victory formation, and eventually lost in ridiclous, Joe Pisarcik-esque fashion.  The Owls should probably be 6-1 with the lone loss coming at Penn State.  Not bad.  Temple or nothing for me.

Florida "just doesn't look right."  Of course, the same could have been said of Texas prior to their controlled scrimmage in Columbia last Saturday.  I played UGa at Tennessee.  That didn't go very well.  Pass.

KU/TT - eek.  - it's almost impossible to make sense out of either of these team's results, which makes wagering rather tricky.  KU played better last week than the score indicates, so you'd think you'd be getting a little value there, but they could play fairly well and lose 58-45. 

KSU/OU - my "fool's gold" game of the week.  Looks like KSU is getting too many, but it's probably not near enough.  KSU shouldn't score more than 10, so how many do you think OU gets?  Offense didn't look great last week.

Awfully hard to imagine Duke/Uva not being close.  You'd think the winner will be in the low-20's, so I am tempted by the 7.5 free ones.
