I agree. But Briles success will depend on who he hires at DC. With the money he has to work with, he should be able to hire the best.

you can't recruit elite defensive players at Baylor so he had to go with all offense in a conference that plays all offense, at LSU he could get big time defensive recruits to go with his big time offensive recruits and he would dominate at LSU, remember I said it
Art Briles in Baton Rouge would be multiple titles once he got all his peeps in there, his offense would dismantle those SEC teams if it had 5 star recruits everywhere, come on man
he did what he did at Baylor with 2-3 star recruits
Lane Kiffin couldn't score at USC so he was fired (go look at his offensive numbers at USC before he was let go, they were terrible)
put him at Bama with 5 stars and a defense and now he's the best coordinator in the conference, funny how that works, Art's offense is so far beyond anything Lane can draw up

First Half OSU looks great to me this week.
I think Rutgers exhausted themselves and shot their wad against Iowa. Now Rutgers has to travel to OSU which is a tough place to play. Rutgers' best offense player and a decent defender are out for the season.
A pumped up OSU team coming off a bye, they should go up by 4 touchdowns at least by the end of the first half. Heck, they should shut out Rutgers, but to prevent a back door, I would lay more money down on the first half.

Here are USC offenses under Lane Kiffin as Offensive Coordinator in 2005 and 2006 (7537 total offense/and 5094 total offense in 2006)

Neil, referring to me as ignorant regarding anything football is irresponsible and uncalled for, I was never talking to you to start with and I was being nice to LH, he and I have great conversation on this forum, he is one of the guys I always chat with
Lane was fired because he couldn't score points, period, end of story, i was referring to his stint as the head coach, he called the plays most of the time according to him regardless of who had the titles of o-coord, he didn't have elite talent like USC had in the past which was the basis of my argument in the first place
he now has elite talent and a defense and it is considered the best coord in the conference
I also wasn't referring to the recruiting classes last two years for Briles, he built his programs with players that weren't big names, he made them big, again, the point of that statement is to show what he is capable of, with 5 star players he would murder teams, give him Lane's circumstances and he would dominate, the exact point of my argument

I rarely receive your lines since my local does not release college until Monday. Archaic I know but I enjoy the convenience. You went in depth with your analysis on Clemson as an example. Usually you seem to move lines I.e. Tulsa last week @10, mine was at 12.5 by the time it was available. Closed at 15.5. Early lines fit your numbers and create your value and as you said once the value is gone you pass. I have passed on some just because my line would be to far out. The reason for this long dissertation is on that Clemson game my line is at +2. A pretty large swing in the other direction which I can't say I have seen happen. I looked and I see some undisclosed ? In Darien Dunn and Denzel Johnson. A 4 point swing? Do I press this one? Other sites are still showing -2?
Please advise

Disclaimer, as an alum, I have an inherent bias towards the Vols but attempt to look at the game as a gambler and not a fan.
There are a few reasons Vols look so poor early in the season, but I believe most of it centers around poor offensive line play (and the look ahead to UF...and yes all three games TN was looking ahead to UF). Publicly there has been a lot of attention to the key players on Def that TN has lost (3 of the 4 best players on Def: CB, MLB, and OLB), but the most important player that returned last week was OL Chance Hall.
If you look at TN's opponents first 4 games at sacks and TFL:
Appy state: 2 sacks and 5 TFLs
VaTech: 2 sacks and 7 TFLs
Ohio: 3 sacks and 8 TFLs
UF: 1 sack and 1 TFL
Although the game against UF was an all too long awaited victory, and I worry about the letdown, the coaches have to have enough sense to get the team focused on UGA. Next games are @ TAMU and Bama @ home. If TN loses to UGA, could lose 3 in a row.
TN will be ready to play this game. Does that equal a covering win....that I do not know, UGA may come to play too. This is a must win for both teams if they want to win the SEC East.
