Pretty decent week going 9-3. Man do I got a ton of thoughts. Florida you are not on my hit list, Old Piss, you are!





                                         Ten Things We Learned


1. First and foremost let's get this out of the way. I may have been known to drag Florida and their program through the mud the last few years, but come on now, they deserved it. But let me be the FIRST to stand here and say, Florida, congrats. You earned that win yesterday and you physically whipped Georgia in all phases. Will it save Mushchamps job? If im a Florida I would certainly hope not. I still believe that the Florida job is too big for him. I have always felt that way and have been consistent on my stand since the day they hired him. But all in all, Florida fans, take a bow....You deserve it!

2. There was talk about what is a bad beat and what isn't a bad beat when it comes to these games. Look, here is the deal. If you play in this game long enough you will be on both sides of it at some point. I know that! Is it fair to complain about taking what you or I call a bad beat? It really is a good conversation. I think regardless of how one feels about it, this forum has individuals who love to watch others lose a bet. Good or bad beat I think there are people who " get off " on it. I hope that isn't the case, but facts are facts. If you know someone is upset about losing a game why show up after the fact? Why show up after? Not before!!! But after? I had what I consider a " bad beat " yesterday. I had Pitt -1 and they had a chance to kick the game winning FG ( 22 yds ? ) very short BTW... But as fate had it, he missed. A very low percentage of losing that on my part, but it happened. So is it ok to vent about it?

3. Ole miss how bout it? I have never been on this Old Piss bandwagon. Why? Bo, plain and simple. I think he is fruit cake who is average at best. This is a great defensive team, maybe. But let's be honest here why was Old Piss getting all this hype? Seriously? I never understood it. They beat Alabama at home, great win, can't take that away from them. But as I said earlier this week there is now way no how Old Piss should be ranked anywhere near that top 4 slots. We all know why they were ranked in the top 4, it's not a popular conversation but it's true! Where do they fall this week? 6? It wouldn't surprise me if they fell no further then 9 or 10. This Playoff committee dropped the ball in week one IMO.

      
4. Let's talk about the playoff committee a little here. I know this may piss some off here, but what the Helll is Condoleezza Rice on the committee for? Im dead serious! Why? Someone give a football reason to why she is. It's hard to take the process serious when the committee is made up of some ( Rice ) who probably couldn't tell you what conference East Carolina plays in without looking it up. Sorry....

5. Mullet man choked it away yesterday. I think Clint was about ready to punch in the face too. Nice play-calling there mullet man! West Virginia played a great game and just choked it away in the 4th quarter due to some horrible calls on the HC part. How good is TCU BTW? I think this team is as good as any team we have left. It will be interesting to see what this " committee "  does with TCU from here on.

6. Miss st. Great football team! But IMO, FSU should still be number 1 until they lose. I think you never dethrone the champ until they fall. But let's talk about Miss st a little. Now let's say, FSU struggled to one of the worst teams in their conference, let's use North Carolina st for example. How would the media/us perceive it? I can hear it now.... That weak conference! We need to knock them down in the rankings! But let's say Miss st struggles with one of the worst in their conference ( at home BTW ) in Arkansas. How would media/us perceive it? Oh.... The power of the SEC proves it week in and week out. Come on stop it with the BS! All im saying is be a little opened minded and stop being so bias guys. We/Us need to stop listening to that 4 letter network as outline of how we should view things. Form an opinion on you own, it's easy.

7. I won't take shots at my in state rival S.C very often, typically because they have had the best of us as of late. But come on Steve.... WTF is going on down there right now? This football team is bad and If you want my honest opinion. I dont think they make a bowl game this year. Man, how the mighty have fallen.

8. I can't figure this PAC 12 out for some reason. I usually feel like I have a good overview of all the teams in college football. But last night I couldn't have been more wrong about the over in the Arizona/UCLA game. It was 70 I think? They scored a total of 24...LOL Now that is what you call missing it! I did hit Oregon - 7 tho! But these PAC 12 teams are Jekyll and Hyde this year. Stanford? Will they make postseason?

9. I firmly believe that if Wisconsin had a QB, they would be among the best teams in the country. I love Melvin Gordon! This guy is a beast. If you had a draft among college players and could take any of them, give me the first pick and Im taking this kid. The other team knows Wisconsin can't throw it and they Gordon still runs for like 200 yds every game. If the Heisman ceremony is fair and not bias towards just players from teams with winning records, then IMO, he should be there in the top 3.

10. 10 weeks down! November is here and I can't wait for the chaos! What is gonna happen every week from here on out? I know one thing, thank God we have a brilliant college football mind like Condolezza Rice on the committee. It's that time of the year when the forum will start to get even more crazier then it already is. I urge people to help instead of troll, I mean whats the point? Just try to contribute! Everyone needs advice on here or none of us would be here in the first place. Everyone have a great week and remember, The Best is Yet To Come!

That can be bad, too.  Everybody who follows college football has a bias.

This playoff system is flawed, anyways.  If you lost to another team in the playoffs, you shouldn't be in the playoffs.  Period.

College teams now play 12-14 games a year to expect a team to bring their A game every week is a little unrealistic.

Look, I will be open minded to what you just said....maybe she does??

But this is what I know and why I asked in my post.....Give me a football reason to why? My point is, these other cats on the panel are connected or have been connected to the sport for many many years.

Let me give you this scenario....

 
When your car breaks down....you take it to a mechanic. A person ( man or woman ) is standing there.... should you just assume he or she knows how to fix it because the sign said " Mechanics shop "?


We always have to make the best decisions by the information at hand.... and with this situation, I need to know what she knows about the game compared to what I already know about the other members on the committee 

im with you... would love to see it....but the remaining schedule is too hard IMO....

Agree and disagree about Ole Miss. They were 2 inches away from probably beating Aub and they held a team to 10 points and still lost.....yes, that makes them losers, but 2 plays away from being undefeated is still pretty high up there in my book....without treadwell i expect them to implode and then kill someone in their bowl game with that defense not having to face an SEC o line.....

and I don't dis agree with anything your saying either. Old miss is a fine football team.... But to give them a pass " just because " isn't fair to other teams.

You and I both know that they had no business being ranked 4th last week.... My problem with them wasn't the fact they are a 2 loss team....it's only " essentially " dropping one spot from the previous week. Im sorry... other teams from around the country won't get that type of treatment. It's the patch on the shoulder that allowed that...

again, Old Miss is a good team..... But if we look around at the 1 or 2 loss teams I think we can make the same type of arguments that have been made for Old Miss...Which IMO, is BIAS.

Count me among those who thinks you are being unfair to Ole Miss.  The "Ole Piss" comments are childish.  They had a very tough break (actually 2, as Auburn scored a TD when they had 12 men on the field and the officials missed it) otherwise they would have won the game.  Ole Miss is one of the best teams in the country and you should be ashamed of the immature way you refer to them

Look...everyone in the country has " miss fortunate things that happen to them all the time... Look, Clemson has had the same things....and I understand. Believe me, I understand.

But let's stop just dismissing the facts... Old Miss LOST.

I have nothing against Old Miss....But if any poll has them in the top 15, it's ridiculous and SEC bias if they do.

No team in the country could lose back to back games and remain in the top 15....unless of course we are talking about Alabama...and that's a whole set of rules.

Has anybody ever denied there is an SEC bias? Do you not think if it was the ACC who won 6 straight titles then there would not be bias to the ACC? It's a legit question I have asked you several times and never had a response.

Gators open just below 2 tds.....enough to entice Gator bettors. However, a huge sandwich spot for UF with the giant win and South Carolina on deck....a road trip to lowly Vandy in the middle. I LOVE Vandy here. Gators still cant throw and Vandy has a totally new feel with Mccrary at qb....Line should rise close to 17....I'll take a big ole bite of that....
