Week 9 was typical of how this year is going. Rotten.

So far the only play is a total:

These are just leans:

Georgia Tech - Eh, looks like I missed +14. Just as well...

Louisville +6 - LV makes teams drive the length of the field. Syr is a team that takes advantage of turnovers and short fields. Would've bet it yesterday but Bilal Powell may be out.

Northwestern +6 - Not if Persa is out. Haven't checked to see if he's playing yet.

Kansas State -4 - If TX had any "bounceback" in them, it would've happened last week.

Rice +18 - Yeah...the ole "Notre Dame Hangover" play.

So far, nothing else looks good enough to even throw on the leans list...not really trusting any thought I have on anything right now...

Ah...ok. Persa is expected to start. Still...they're careful with the concussion, and they'll make the final decision on Thursday...

this is just a very difficult market to make money in...I've not seen this many good handicappers struggle (myself included) in a long time...hope you are able to hang in there, I respect your abilities greatly...

pags11; Yeah, it's been a long year. Just when one thinks that everything is figured out, the ball bounces the wrong way or FG's start clanging off of goal posts. The breaks went my way last year; that definitely has evened out this year. 

Of course, I'm picking a couple games each week that are just not the right side...that doesn't help.

Just have to keep following the gut even though it got me into this mess. Good luck this week, pags.

what's going on buddy, keep an eye out for whether Froman (questionable) plays, Powell already doubtful, agree Texas doesn't seem to have the bounceback left, backup must be horrible or they should have tried them as Gilbert looks confused a lot and few times he throws well the WR drops it

strange year in thet matchups, series, bounceback and other angles not working, good year for people picking out of hat, reminds me of 2007, keep grinding eventually handicapping wins out in long run over years, GL LJ

Orangemen44; Have fun this Saturday! The way the season is going Syr could be #2 in the BE. I think that puts The Orange in the Capitol One bowl vs the ACC #3. (Maybe Clemson? Miami?) That would be a great spot to play Syr vs a team that couldn't give a damn about Syr.

This looks like a year that Syracuse is getting every break during games. It would just continue that storyline if LV's QB and top 2 RB's aren't on the field.

Did you hear the Dallas Cowboy rumor? That Coach Pasqualoni would be the interim coach if Wade Phillips is fired? Apparently, the players respect him more than Jason Garrett because of his discipline and attention to detail.

Nostra; Hey nos. Glad you mentioned that Froman might miss the game. I saw it this morning when I went looking for his stats. He's a shockingly accurate QB...didn't think he was that effective. Then find out he might miss the game...Oh. So this is why most cappers don't jump on games Sunday night?

Thanks for the info on Gilbert and his WR corp because I haven't watched much TX lately. They haven't been on TV much up here. Even when they are, I find 2 or 3 games more interesting that the one they're playing...

So it seems to me that Coach Snyder should have a good plan ready to keep Gilbert confused as hell. Kind of like the Kansas game last year when he confused Reesing...

Kansas State's success on offense seems to only depend on the strength of the opponents defense. They've played great games and laid a couple eggs this year. No great games vs good defenses, though. If the TX defense comes to play, this game should be an ugly game led by the defenses.

I did hear that, can you imagine?  I always liked him though, he was always able to recruit good players at Cuse and i guess it was time for a change, i just wish we didnt change for Robinson.  He set the program back 10 years.  I remember being in the dome for the first game under Robinson....the PA announcer said as the ball was being kicked off, "welcome to the Robinson era" and guess what, we fumbled the kickoff, we should have known from that point forward what was going to happen.

Orangemen 44: Yeah, GRob was in over his head. He might not even survive the year at UM. That was a funny line about The Robinson Era beginning...that game was a tease to Syr fans. He let everyone think he'd at least bring a good defense to the table. My memory had that loss as Syr 7 WV 13 but I just cheated and looked it up and it was 7-15. Probably his "best loss" as head coach.

So many ways to break down how historically bad UM is on defense. To be fair to a certain defensive coordinator, injuries had a hand in this mess. Now JT Floyd will miss the year because of an ankle injury in practice Tuesday.

ILL QB Scheelhause probably played over his head last week and will regress a bit this week. Actually, my bet on The Illini makes it certain that will happen. If anyone is on UM and wants an easy blowout win, lemme know and I'll add an extra unit to ILL. (Well...if I like ya.)

Virginia @ Duke UNDER 56. I think both teams shot their wad last week. This should be a turnover fest. Turnovers = points except when you give it right back.

BC -3, Even BC should move the ball vs WF.

Arkansas +4. Seems like S Car could be flat in this spot. I dunno.

Mich St -24. Dantonio has spent his entire career at MST telling anyone who'll listen that his team is mentally tough. If so, they should massacre Minny this week. Obviously, his kids were thinking Nat'l Championship even though we knew better. It's new territory for MST players, and could be a let down spot so might not play...

Kaplan; I'm thinking Persa gives them the win also. NW's offense is so dependent on timing, that if he's out then I'm not on the game. Persa should be able to pass all day on PST.

Now that UNC has most of their pieces back on defense, I don't see Fla St scoring over 30. NC has enough play makers on offense to keep it closer than the experts think.
