Wow. After a loss like that, Scott Frost will have this team ready to go like fuc*king Navy Seals and this is the line I have to top? Not even a FG?
On top of that, at their lowest low, UCONN LAID into UCF 40-13 last year with many of their players injured, pouring it on in front of their home fans. Many of these same players remember this from last year and a fake rivalry that UCONN created. READ this link to understand that.
Now UCF a superior team with a better coach and better personnel, will pay them back tenfold. And coming off that loss. which is always a motivator!
And spotting less than a FG? Home or road, I had UCF winning this game this year. Now UCF will pay them back the way UCONN did them dirty last year.
Be warned, this line will get to -3.5 and even -4 when the sharps get their hands on it.
There will be no Giants/ODB shenanigans in this game, I promise everyone who tails that!

The Civil Conflict explained from an article last year:
"The Civil Conflict" has become "A National Punch Line" among media and Internet fan sites. Forget nutmeg or oranges. Many would suggest horse manure be dumped on the trophy.
"Rivalries need to start somewhere," Diaco said on a media conference call Monday. "Somebody calls out somebody. I think it's fun and exciting.
"Whether the trophy is honored or not, it's honored by us. You don't have control over that, so who cares? [The Knights] don't get to say whether they're our rival or not. We might not be their rival, but they don't get to say whether they're our rival. That's for us to decide."
Easy to say when the team you are playing has ZERO wins.
Let's hear Diaco pump it up this year against this UCF team.
Scott Frost is gonna LOVE referencing this while addressing the team no matter what he says publicly...

nice record Scal UCF looks good. Nice write up per usual Bol
Add to this UCONN is giving up nearly 100+ yards more than Temple and +3 total points on defense.
They are a very deliberate vanilla team in terms of offense, trying to milk the clock. When they get behind they get in trouble and UCF can get out ahead of you in a hurry as evidenced by what they did against an excellent D in Temple.
Then you have Bryant Shirreffs behind center for UCONN. He can run and throw but he's a very limited QB throwing the ball. You'll see his limitations on Saturday. He tries to create but eventually takes too much time and good defenses like UCF swallow him up.
STRUGGLED against Virginia, throwing for 150 yards (13/24). This is a defense that gives up 450 yards a game on average. His stats are pumped up against very good team (Houston/USF) in garbage time after the game has been long lost. UCF will get after this kid. And they'll limit his running threat.

Scott Frost from Oregon (during their glory years). Was a finalist for the Broyle's Award in 2014 as one of the Top Assistant coaches in the nation.
UCF was so bad last year, legendary George O'Leary LEFT them high and dry in the middle of a winless season.

"I don't have much to say. I'm sick to my stomach. We let one get away. Two in our own building we've let get away. Those things can't happen. We've all got to do a better job finishing. It's a learning process for all of us, but those are lessons you don't want to have to learn. I feel terrible for the kids, but I'll always be proud of them."
You think a coach who leaves a game 'sick to his stomach' isn't going to drive his players in practice this week to get one back the following week?
Compare this to Darrell Hazell who simply says things like "We need to improve." And then see how Purdue does the following week.

"They're good on defense. I give credit to them. But we've got to play smarter. We've got to coach smarter. We've got to play smarter. Once we had 25 points and had the ball on their side of the 50 four or five more times. Either penalty or a dumb play took us out of there. Defensively, I'm not sure they would have scored in the first half without a kick out of bounds and two unsportsmanlike conducts on us, and jumping offsides on their hard count. Listen, we've got to coach them better to make sure those kinds of things don't happen."
This week, he won't let up and will put an emphasis on not letting penalties kill his team, especially on the right side of the 50.

On the bigger problem, penalties or protection:

On losing a second home game in a gut-wrenching fashion and what he told the team afterward:
"Just stick together. They've come too far to quit now. One more play here and there and this team could be 5-1. Nobody would have said we could be 5-1 when we started this thing. I don't think many people thought we could be 3-3. We're close to being a really good team. It won't be very long around here before we're winning all these games."
A coach that believes his team should be 5-1 (and they very well could be) is going to let his team fall to 3-4? Not on his watch. They will fight like hell and we only need to get over 2.5 points.

Lose this game and you are staring at a 3-5 record, no bowl and a lost season that started out so promising...No, they will leave on the field this game.

And guess who they have right after UCONN...
AT HOUSTON

Many people mistakenly look at big games as "look ahead" games. This is somewhat true IF you have success already and for the most part, are a good to elite team (and if the game has conference record implications).
BUT if you are a team just trying to make a bowl (like UCF is), ALL games are meaningful and alleged lookahead games against elite competition makes the game BEFORE the alleged lookahead game the impotant one (Uconn) not the Houston itself.

I was surprised when Frost didn't get the Nebraska job......I know some Big Red alums and they were not happy about Riley getting the nod over Frost.....
I guess the AD Einhorst went rogue on the hire.
Never Make A Winner A Loser. Never.

Think about this comment people.
Frost was in the running to coach Nebraska, one of the most storied programs in College Football. He ended up at an 0-12 college program and should have them at. 4-2 today.
He is doing everything in his power to turn this team around and land a job in the Big Time ASAP.
Dino Babers just did the same thing with Bowling Green by moving up to Syracuse. EVERY win beyond 0-12 is an important win for this team and coach.
A small footnote but a meaningful one. That is why you see Scott so focused. That is one of the small but many reasons to take UCF here.

Usik, I told ya the sharps would hit this baby up! It was a bad opening line. Honestly, I give the same advice that I do with other gameswhen this happens:
Limit your exposure on the bet by cutting it in half or if not comfortable with that, take it down to 3 with the same bet and less payout since it would be a "push only" result.
This line is getting to 4 IMO. If it got to 3.5 in 24 hours, 4 is in the distance. I could even see 4.5.
I know guys are going to take 3.5 regardless of what I say. UCF is very explosive in terms of quick scores so that's a big positive.
