Honestly, it just appears to be getting worse, more omnipresent. Disruptive. As if this speculation wasn't hard enough, knowing this behavior is becoming more prevelant,in cfb and NFL, certainly tarnishes my interest...and trust...in such endeavor. Nil, portal, rigged officiating( at times ), certainly makes it more of an uneven playing field. While the books clean up...and we face a serious social epidemic of young males w addictive, gambling behaviors. As the majority of retail loses their asses consistently. A sad state of affairs. At least for old school guys like me.

Yes, times have changed. NIL and the transfer portal make college sports a little different to handicap, but once the players are in place, the game is still the game.
As far as sportsbooks suddenly cleaning up, that is not really true on straight wagers. Since the 90s, the hold has generally been around 4 to 6%. The volume is much bigger now because betting is everywhere, but the hold on straight wagers has not changed much.
If the game feels overwhelming or you do not want to adjust to NIL, transfers and everything else that comes with it, maybe sports betting just is not for you anymore.

Yes,that's why I trade futures professionally. Have no interest in what appears increasing corruption,so to speak. Along with the other concomitant portal bs, egregious monetization. For numerous entities. Excessive.

I mean, if shady is the standard, the futures market probably isn’t the best hill to die on.Plenty of manipulation, inside information and big money moving markets there. Every market has its bullshit… the job is figuring out where the edge is.

This is like walking into a bar and trying to run an AA meeting. It’s a gambling forum. Everybody here knows gambling has risks, so what exactly is the point other than announcing that you don’t approve of it and that you know more about the financial markets than most.
Speaking of AA, I may have put a nip or two of whiskey in my coffee this morning.

Your crazy to say no manipulation in the stock market or financial markets, it's even worse there. Are you sure you know what your doing there ?? ?? ?? ?? ??

I trade futures as well and I would argue it's way worse there. You are talking about billions of dollars changing hands every second and you have market markets blatantly manipulating indices and price action with massive options volume. Bad calls in sports are nothing compared to that and if you played the spread you still won anyway so it doesnt even matter. How many people are betting moneylines on 20+ pt dogs?
