Tennessee @ Georgia

Let’s talk about this game, I’ve seen so many members chirping & going back & forth over this one 

from a matchup standpoint I see more value in taking the points but I have hesitancy going against what has been an amazing program last several years, defending champs & at home

uga wants to pound the rock & control the clock but the Vols can limit their ground game to a degree, Vols have a good front in my opinion 

I think this one is all on Stetson, if he can step his play in another big game & hurt Vols down the field then Dawgs can win, but can he do that ?

I gotta think Dawgs defense will get a few stops & Tenny plays so fast that a few quick 3 & outs could get them behind schedule , can Stetson make them pay

when I watch Vols I see a vulnerable back end of the defense but I thought Young was better equipped to exploit this than Stetson

id like input from true Georgia fans that know this team, what do you guys think?

can Stetson beat them with his arm?

my initial lean is vols getting anythinh over a TD but not sure I’d actually bet it, we will see 

lots of cappers I respect like Georgia, is that because they feel vols are overrated ?  Or because they think Dawgs are just that good ?

Tough game to bet....

Tenn beat Bama because Hyatt was wide open all game....but he was open because Tenn can actually run the ball and Bama couldn't play their normal cover 2/shell since they had to respect the run.....Now, Georgia has better front 7 than Bama, but probably near equal secondary.....If Tenn can't run well, UGA can/will help the corners. Seriously doubt Hooker has all day and wrs wide open all afternoon....

On the other side, Tennessees defense aint bad, but not great by any means. Bennett and crew have faced better and dominated....but this year just doesn't look or feel like that team. Struggles with Kent St and Mizzou dont bode well if you wanna lay over a td with this years Dawgs....

I think this line is based on the fact (or close to it) that people think Tennessee is over rated and Georgia has just been sleep walking and can turn it on when they want to....I dont think either is true.....but no outcome here would surprise me.....therefore....

yes!  Agree on this team not looking like last years version but that’s why I want feedback from a few diehard Dawg fans, is uga holding gold here?

lots of times I get a memory of last year while capping the “potential” of UGA (which I shouldn’t do) but I just haven’t seen that level of dominance they had, they seem worse on both offense & defense than last year to the eye but obviously I know they can beat any team on any given day 

I feel that vols offense will get mixed results with around 27-30 points & my eye tells me their defense can keep Dawgs around that same number, almost has me lean under honestly since total has risen up so high 

Vols & under is initial first glance leans if forced to bet it because I just haven’t seen much from dawgs offense 

anyhow, I may just enjoy this as a college football fan, games like this are so much fun, that atmosphere will be cool

Tenn needed half a hundo AT HOME to squeak out a win vs Bama....They will not be in Knoxville and if the need to put up fitty to be in the game they are in trouble.....

I think Vols are playing amazingly good . What i am going to do is put some pizza money on the Vols ML + 240 just for fun ( or do i better buy the pizza ? ) LOL

I think this is a very hard game to bet taking or giving points but i dont think the Vols are like Cincy last year , i see a REAL team here that can put a big fight on da dawgs .

I think home field plays a huge roll in this game. If this game was in Tennessee Vols roll but now that its in Athens Georgia wins the question is do they cover that number. Vegas being generous with that +8. Def asking for alot of Vols action. Why not Vols have look like a machine.  Last possession game, Georgia with the ball down 1 score a TD for the win and go for 2 and win by 7!!! Just the feeling Im getting so probably taking Tennesse +8 unless decided to get crazy and buy points lol 

Georgia hasn't been lighting up scoreboards and Tenny getting more then a TD is too generous imho

Probably pass.....but I may also add Tenn to a 13 pointer just for fun and then have them +21.

Hendon Hooker is good enough this season to keep it close against anyone, or at least that is what I think I think.

Very close game for sure. Wont be a blow out. For that reason im taking tennessee on a teaser +18

 Dawgs avg 42 points a game 

How will Hendon Hooker and team react when they get punched in the mouth?    The public has an overwhelming hard on for Tennessee, a PUBLIC ROAD DOG, that needed every break possible to beat Alabama at home...Georgia is better than Alabama...And Tenn whipped Kentucky which is a fraud this season...The common denominator opponent is Florida...Tennessee beat Florida in Knoxville 38 to 33...Georgia beat Florida 42 to 20 in Jacksonville...Common opponent is not necessarily and indicator of potential outcome, but I think its demonstrative of how I think the game will play out...Home Field will have a huge impact.  I think Smart will have an answer for Hyat and Hooker...And I think the suspect Tenn D will get shreaded on the ground and in the air...That's why I am rolling with UGA -8.5!   

Two team tease, Georgia -2.5 / Tenn +14.5 EV

Kirby will have a safety on top of #11 all game and blitz the hell outta Hooker on 2nd or 3rd downs. Bama had 17 penalties vs UT and tried to control the clock at the end of the game instead of letting Bryce be Bryce. Bama corners are dog shet, Georgia is better at corner. But they play the same kinda “mug em til the ball is there” type of man coverage as bama. So will the Refs let ‘em play? If not, UT will just throw for PI’s to move the ball. 

I don’t like the line at all. But my gut says Georgia wins by 10-14

 The guy comparing this game to the Kentucky game makes no sense … in what world … that game was also played in knox…

if I had to guess Georgia wins.. by 7 to 9 and depending what you get the number at Tennessee covers … Tennessee doesn’t have the defense to win this game imho at least on the road in Georgia .. first crack .. maybe they will meet them in the playoff and things will be different … A La Georgia last year vs bama 

I’m a TN fan, but no bias! My thought is GA has played absolutely nobody and I don’t count Oregon with a new qb and coach game 1 for Oregon. Slipped by Mizzou 26-22. Gave up 22 to Kent St. So I think the D numbers for GA are inflated due to weak opponents. 

Then you have TN that slipped past a not so good Pitt team and almost blew the FL game, but this team is getting better by the week especially on D and what impresses me the most is that they didn’t overlook LSU with AL lurking and same with KY and GA lurking! They’ve also been in a slobber knocker with AL when GAs slobber knocker win was against Mizzou! 

If GA starts strong and shows that they’re actually good and not getting all this hype based on 2021’s success. Then TN might be in trouble, but I’m not buying it! If Stetson Bennett gets the pressure that TN brought to Bryce Young and Will Levi’s he will crumble especially if you find away to take away his super human TEs! So at that point that GA defense has to win the game and I’m sorry but that’s not happening if the GA offense can’t do anything and that D is getting ran up and down the field with this high pace offense. They’ll be dead in the 4th quarter!

Nobody in their right mind thinks that this GA defense that’s allowed only 10 pts a game versus complete trash opponents can hold TN to under 28+points. I think TN scores 42 and GA can’t keep up with their below average qb! 

Wahoo - personally, tough game to cap. Georgia wins, not sure about the number.  Think the Under is more solid than anything else. Like Horn said, believe Tennessee will get punched in the mouth - on the road, how will they react?  Think Georgia's defense will be much stauncher than Alabama. 

My prediction: Georgia 28 Tennesse 20.

(by the way, I'm all for Tennesse and any new blood in CFP).
