Yeah, I've heard that the UVa administration has petitioned Congress to address the "naked short-selling" of Virginia football tickets. You'll be able to hunt deer safely in the upper deck at Scott Stadium by the middle of next season, or, perhaps the middle of November.

All this talk of UVa being the worst team in the country is a little bit absurd. With all of teh offseason BS as well as breaking in a new interior OL and losing the best defensive player in college from last year, lets give these guys a small chance to get better. While I admit that they have played awful and will most likely get embarassed by the Dukies this weekend, I am holding out hope that the team can build Verica up a little bit and establish somewhat of a running game as the season goes on. I'm not expecting anything more than 4 wins, but they would absolutely beat Army, Cuse, Idaho, Wyoming, Wazzu, etc.
Maine, I actually think the recruiting thing will be fixed with a new coach, but I"m insulted that you would even consider than redneck Foster, whose press conference after the BC game last year ("DIDN"T NOBODY DIE OUT THERE!") has pretty much eliminated him from ever being the figurehead of a respectable university for years to come. These kids have all but given up on Al, and I think the administration is following suit. I think they will pressure him to allow a buyout (much like we did with Pistol Petey Gillen) of smaller portions and go with the strategy of the basketball team; find a young, energetic, potentially minority candidate to come in and breathe some life into the program. I was hoping that London would last a little longer at DC as I would have loved to see him get promoted, but unless we can get Parcells or Howie Long, I vote to go with a relative unknown (to those outside the football circles) who can come in with realistic expectations and build the team in the mold of today's game (faster, athletic players as opposed to these slow weight room studs we have right now).
I've said for years now, Al Groh is at the top of the list of problems with this program. Until he goes, UVa fans need to recognize that there will never be anything better than last season, which I still found to be somewhat mediocre considering the amount of NFL talent they had on that roster.

I'm a writer for Pitt football so I KNOW BAD WHEN I SEE IT, and Syracuse is bottom of the barrel.
You could put this team in the WPIAL (western PA high school football) and they would probably land a 9 or 10 seed, failing to pull off home-field advantage. Let me run off some facts for you about the mystical fightin' Robinson's.
FACT: Syracuse found themselves in a 9th grade tussle with D-2 tussies Northeastern--a team that is 0-3, including a loss to Georgia Southern--and came out with but a nine-point win.
FACT: In their three losses this year, the Orange have lost to a combined 127-51.
FACT: Quarterback Andrew Robinson threw a NEGATIVE 15 yard pass against PSU in their incredible 55-13 thriller.
FACT: Greg Robinson really did say this: "It's the beginning of what it's all about. This is the Big East." -- Syracuse coach Greg Robinson on the start of the conference portion of the schedule.
And also:
"What do you want me to say? We are rebuilding and this is what happens when you rebuild."
As dumb as you are stupid Greg Robinson. No adjective can dare explain the abysmal state that your program is in. Syracuse fans I pity you, for you have THE worst football team in D-1 football. In Robinson thee believe.
