First of all, Kansas was way overrated and will lose big to Oklahoma this week. Who has Kansas beaten? The loss to Colorado was not an aberration. Ohio St. is having some internal issues trying to make Pryor into a pocket passer, but I will give you that one. Finally, who said Kentucky was horrible? They lost to Florida and Alabama who are #1 and #2 in the BCS. Their only other loss came in a tough battle with S. Carolina. Kentucky may very well be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the SEC East.

Simon I see where you are coming from.  Tenn has dominated S.C. since S.C. joined the S.E.C., but S.C. dominated the game last year and S.C. has been competitive with Tenn over the last few years.  Tenn did "own" S.C. but they do not anymore.  Tenn has fallen off and S.C. is improving.  I see Tenn and S.C. as about equal teams as of now, although S.C. players, coaches, and fans still consider Tenn a big game.  I think all the S.E.C considers Tenn a big game now that their new coach wants to take verbal shots at the other programs.

PFEIFFERK--how frickin overrated was OKLA??  Let's see...they beat IDAHO STATE, TULSA, and BAYLOR.  3 power-houses!!  They lose at home against BYU, Miami, and atTexas.  No Sam Bradford anymore.  You're not betting last year's OKLA team!  I'm not claiming KU as a top-ten team, but certainly can't see how a Bradford-less OKLA can lay this many in a tough stadium the week after Texas..

DeadPrez--we'll continue our SC/Tenn discussion next week!  Still not talking me out of Vandy though

simon you make avg enough points. I don't see this game as being a lock. It is not a play of the year type game. Mainly because spurrier and his offense have put up horrible offensive games throughout the last few years and they have underachieved. Yes of course there are upsets each wk. Purdue beating osu a bad one. Before season on paper colorado and ku were not far apart and colorado been improving a little bit. My main point to you though is all that sandwich game/look ahead/look behind/letdown/ etc etc stuff is all bs.  There is no way to know how what when where and why these kids are thinking about. That is no reason to take or not take a game. In fact the reason i like this game besides vandys pathetic offense is the situation is a great one for s.c.  They are at home at night playing a huge game for them to stay high in conference standings/nat rankings/ and go to 6 and 2. They lost last 2 yrs to vandy so no f---ing way are they looking ahead to anybody.  This game is huge for them and they need to take care of bizness and win. Vandy's season is over. Been getting flat out embarrassed all season and can't be looking forward to going into columbia for another asskicking. South carolina should cover the 12.5 points on special teams and defense alone and anything garcia can do on offense is icing on the top.

for example someone might say s.c is beat up after facing alabama and may have emotional letdown after playing such a big game.  But a guy on here showed that teams at 8-1 ats after playing alabama so most of the time the schedule situation type stuff is much to do about nothing.

Agree SC is the better team by far.  I'm not saying Vandy will win the game, I'm not saying they're a lock to cover.  I am saying that with a big game last week and one next week, 12.5 is a tough cover.  Spurrier is not gonna have key players on the field in the 4th Quarter if comfortably ahead...how many 2 td spreads are lost to a backdoor cover in the 4th Qrt.  And I certainly beg to differ with you...as a former college player and coach, "hangovers"..lookaheads..sandwich games...happen every week at every level of every sport...they are not "bs"!!  Good luck, we'll see how it plays out...

simon sez they definately happen for sure but its impossible to predict when they do make a difference and when they don't. Do you agree that with a big game at tennessee like you say it is that this wk vs vandy is even more important? and you do not account for vandy's likeleness to not be too excited to go to columbia and night vs this defense after the miserable season so far. I see sc as a much more fired up team in this one.

Mos def sc. watched them in person last week n bama. Bama did stuggle on offense. No way vandy will be able to move the ball on SC's defense. I think Garcia is getting better. The tall freshman wr they have can cause a lot of mismatches. Bonus info that freshman is the same freshman Lane Tiffin said would be pumping gas is he went to SC. He currently is there leading WR. Sc lost to bama a number 2 team and UGA which was a fluke.

I don't no guys .. I was lickin my chops when I saw this matchup for this week .. Set to pound SC .. Vegas line and movement is telling me Vandy . I can't believe I talked myself out of my favorite play of the weekend in SC , but I did . I know all stats favor SC , but I go by letdowns , spots , and vegas opening number for my capping . I don't post that often , but my Action is on Vandy .. Good luck

MGM-I agree it's impossible to predict when they'll happen, but statistics have proven when more likely to happen.  I see Vandy going into a rivalry game with a hope to redeem a sucky season.  I see a SC offense that is not capable of putting up the numbers to merit this line.  I see Spurrier pulling key personnel late in the game.  One fumble, one special teams play, one key penalty...can make a 13 point go to a 20 point line on one play.  I may be wrong and I'll be the 1st to come back on this thread and give you kudo's if I am, but I see nothing other than Vandy covering this!!

ageed. sc def fine. vandy just not feelin it this year. sc/vandy alwasys seems to have queer vibe but i look for sc to put the wood to vandy and keep movin on.
