Who is gonna protect our children. No one has all the facts, but it is clear that as a man, he did not do what a MAN is supposed to do. Child molestering is unacceptable, Paterna was a very powerful man on that campus. It seems to me that this was a big cover up to keep the cash flowing for that program, that is a selfish act. And to top it off, he should of been resigned years ago, let a new coach blossom, that is also a selfish act. Child molesters and those that turn the other cheek get NO LOVE, and Im a proud father. Let someone tell me someone is molestering kids that is in my reach, Im going to confront them MAN to MAN, then Im not even going to say what else I would do. Penn State did a big cover up, and IMO, Joe knew more, PERIOD.

Life is crazy. Without Penn State football, there was no Joe Paterno....simply put, when the board of directors fired Paterno, they in turn signed his death warrant. The media deserves a little credit in that regard too.....nothing like burning up a guy without all of the facts in.
I know it sounds crazy, but you see the same thing happen everyday with elderly married couples that have spent most of their life together (out of the public eye of course)......when one dies the other is not far behind. I believe the actual statistic from the insurance companies actuary tables is that the surviving partner only lasts about an average of 3 years before passing on, with women lasting longer than men.
It is fascinating just how much power the mind has over the body...when the most important thing in your life is gone, the thing that defines you, just how long do you go on? Even though he was diagnosed with the cancer, would he have gone on a few more years if on the sideline? Tough to say......
One thing is for sure....things went badly in Happy Valley near the end, and it sort of feels like Joe made the decision to pack it in...no court rooms, no testifying, no PR interviews with ESPN. Game, set, match......
So...RIP Joe Paterno, tough break. Many will miss you, some won't, but it is a shame that things ended up the way they did.

His legacy will be told by the countless athletes he helped become better people by helping them advance towards life with confidence and an education, Also the countless other students who's life is now better thanks to some of the things Paterno help to bring to PSU (such as facilities).
His eternal regret (obviously) will be that he failed to do more involving the knowledge he received regarding the abominal criminal behavior of a well known assistant of his. This he admitted, albeit too little, too late in just about everyones personal opinion.
All I can say is... before you applaud his death... because of your respect for his life or career... or because of your thought of vengance against him... ask yourself this...
How Many Lives have you helped to improve during your lifetime...???
...because we all know that everyone here would have beat the crap out of The lowlife J.S. and/or immediately went to the campus police, local police, state police, FBI, CIA, MafiA or whatever it would have took had you been in Paterno's position (That we already know).

apologies to all for blatant disrepectful language.,.... was plenty drunk after the Giant win....
Joe Paterno deserves the benefit of doubt here,
Just galls me somewhat that he passed along the issue as if that were his only duty. McQueery too. A crime of this nature should not get swep under the rug.

I think Pa was just short for Paterno, but to me any man that will and does not stand up to child molester is a PA= PUNK AZZ

HE CAN ROT IN HELL....
FUCK THAT ASSHOLE. If you want to start another thread then we can discuss.
That old fuck is a complete dirtbag, end of story. He deserves no praise and no good stories told.
END OF STORY.....
I sincerely hope something terrible happens to you and/or your family in the near future.
