Colorado State is officially on high alert. I see the Huskers poaching coach McElwain from the Rams. He would bring that toughness back that the Huskers have been lacking.

Doubtful they hire him from Co St, he has a 7.5 million dollar buyout

My guess is they go after Scott Frost from Oregon in this age of offense we are living in

Nebraska is insane. I was born and raised there, went to many games growing up in the Osborne Era. I was even born in 1971, the all-team greatest Nebraska year (tied with '95).

Having now fired Pelini after a 9-3 season, and Solich after a 10-2, I am formally resigning as a Nebraska fan.

I would wait until you see who the new coach is. If you get McElwain away from CSU, you can go back to enjoying those 9 and 10 win seasons, and Wisconsin will no longer hang a million on the Huskers. Just take a look at that basketball program. Steal a CSU coach and watch your program flourish.

Have been a Husker fan for 50 years and I have got to tell you when you continually beat up on McNeese St,, Fresno St., Indiana, Purdue, and Illinois, but are ill prepared for the likes of Wisconsin, Ohio St., and even Minnesota a change had to be made. Bo did have seven years and he failed miserably when a big game came on the schedule. Nebraska is probably in the top 20 in desirable coaching jobs. It is my understanding that the University already has someone on their radar. Just might be the jump start the Huskers need. Time will tell I guess.

"In the last seven years there have only been two coaches to win at least nine games a season at their current job. Alabama's Nick Saban is one, and Bo Pelini was the other."

He is probably the only power five coach to give up 70+ points about half a dozen times to Wisconsin. He feasted on the bad teams and got rolled by the good teams. Add in the fact that he was a world class pri ck, and you have a coach with a solid win percentage that is unemployed.

I can see your point there. As a bettor, I've been burned playing Nebraska in some "big" games.

The difference, & problem, these days is that many programs that weren't shiit back in the 70's-90's are now into the fray with great facilities & money to pay coaches.........there's a lot more competition out there now. Being "Nebraska" doesn't mean as much as it once did.

I would love to see Paul Johnson or even Calhoun from Air Force- when I was a kid even though I was raised a LSU fan, I love watching Nebraska just line up and run over people- It would be fun to have a major program running that type of offense (sorry Ga. Tech)- To have today's best athlete's running the option attack would be something special

I am a die hard huskers fan and a fan of bo as well and I am sad to see him go, but the number 1 candidate has to be oregons OC scott frost, frost played qb at nebraska and was born in Lincoln as well, he would be welcomed by the fans that is for sure and with what he has helped accomplish with oregons offence, seems like a perfect fit, add to the fact that tom osborne has spoken highly of him as well can only help his case, troy calhoun from air force is my sleeper pick,
