AFTER OSU beats Michigan (which may or may not happen) I will look forward to the match with LSU (should they win out including the SEC Championship - which may or may not happen).  Until that time it is a waste of time.  Too many things can happen.  IF it happens, it should be a great game.

OK, so you're telling me that if LSU, Oklahoma, and Ohio St all lost the same week and won out from there that OSU is in the BCS NC game?  I honestly doubt it, but that's just my opinion strictly based on where OSU stood in the polls in the midst of several undefeated teams.

    Booneandotter,

I'll say that right now the SEC is better top to bottom than the Big 10 but a lot of them are highly overated. Florida and Bama have lost 3 times each. South Carolina just gave up 48 to Arkansas and lost to a Hapless Tennessee team the week before. Ole Miss and Miss State suck. Georgia just gave up 34 to TROY and lost to WVU in a BCS game a few yrs back.  Auburn is boring but well coached and Kentucky is still a joke and a basketball school and OSU would spank them. i'll give ya LSU and Fla but the rest of your teams are questionable.

I'll credit LSU for scheduling Va Tech but the rest of the teams you scheduled are a joke, Midd Tenn, La TEch and Tulane. When OSU is playing @ USC next year you will be tuned in because it will be the best game going of the year

We know the rankings don't really mean anything, esp the preseason ranks, but OSU was about #12 to open up because they lost a bunch of offensive starters from last year, that's it. So they may have been rated lower than LSU, OKL, etc but these voters don't know how the season would play out.

I would understand if you was supporting Alabama since that is your location and am only guessing maybe your team. Alabama is the team of the SEC if you look back, but jumping up and down on LSU's man berries I dont understand.

First off, don't ever get Bama's number of National Championships mixed up.  Twelve would be the number ('25, '26, '30, '34, '41, '61, '64, '65, '73, '78, '79, '92).  Second, don't give ND credit for a NC they don't have.  Eleven would be their number. Third, don't count Princeton and Yale in the NC totals like that, as all of their NCs were all retroactively awarded in 1929 (i.e. Princeton and Rutgers won the NC in 1869 because they were the only two college football teams and they played each other twice, each going 1-1, the next year Princeton was 1-0 and got the NC, etc.)

So if you want to talk Bama and Ohio St, start it up and you'll find out "The" OSU can't hold a candle to the Tide.  And you're not getting much further comparing OSU to the SEC.

So yes, I know all about TEAM, buddy.  Why do you think the team with the most National Championships (Roll Tide) has never had a Heisman Trophy winner? Never an emphasis on the individual...

Again, stuff that happened 50 years ago doesn't mean shit now. And many of these Nat Titles are shared, disputed, some years there were several different champs because magazines all awarded different champions, who gives a fuck. And the fact that Princeton and Yale even own any titles shows you that football was different 130 years ago, 80 years ago, whatever. Army used to be a powerhouse football team. ND used to be good too. And Bama's titles didn't mean shit when they gave the game to LSU. Whatever.

"Recognized" being the key word you missed I guess.

As for Alabama see me message above supporting them. I would never knock them the are a great school with plenty of history to back it up.

Don't think for a minute that I'm trying to say Princeton and yale are top football programs, it was just in the copy paste from site.

Which is a good site with lots of info on all schools.. Check it out sometime and enjoy

Sorry, dude, no disrespect intended, just get heated when discussing Bama football (that's why I like just sticking to the gambling aspect on this site)

But yes, I like that site and typically make reference to it at least once a day, but if you notice when it lists the NC's by year, they say CFBDW recognized National Champion, so it's just the site's opinion, I guess.  The NCAA recognizes 12 NC for Bama and 11 for ND, I'm pretty sure.

So the 28 years of Woody Hayes is crap using your logic. Stop making the rest of us Buckeye fans look stupid.

I am with you on alot of your points that tOSU and the Big Ten (11) is alot better than they are getting credit for but to dismiss history and use history in the same breathe is asinine..

No disrespect taken. I'm tryin no to get in the bashing arguement myself but point out tOSU and the Big Ten (11) are better than the credit they are getting and probably never will get the media hype the SEC gets.

I dont see many teams out setting up home/away games against Notre Dame, Washinton,Texas, USC, Miami FL,Arizona, UCLA, Texas Tech, Wash St, NC St., BC, Pitt, WV, Missouri and Syracuse. Thats just since the 90's.

Some of these teams now are not what they was then, but when they was sheduled and played had excellent programs. We have USC the next 2 years and I suppose since they are not playing thier best football at the moment we will be punished for that as well like Wash this year. Wash was our first game after winning the NC and at the time was 2 top 5 teams in the country putting the entire season on the line right off the bat

Wash was our first game after winning the NC and at the time was 2 top 5 teams in the country putting the entire season on the line right off the bat

millinski, you are right the Buckeyes have not ducked anyone. They will go anywhere to play, hell they'd even go to Boise and whip their asses. I am not dismissing Woody Hayes or Bear Bryant or anyone. The game is different now, many of the powers back then are still powerful, this is a game of money and the top programs have money to spend, recruit, gifts, payoffs, whatever. we have here a bunch of wannabes from the SEC saying that the SEC is best because Bama won a bunch of titles in the 1920's and 1930's, WTF, and then the OSU has not won a bowl game vs the SEC, WTF? how far are we going back? Using this logic then of course Navy could never beat ND right? So basically guys want to match OSU vs the SEC and go back 40-50 years with irrelevant stats. For many years the bowls were tied to the conferences, so the top 2 teams couldn't meet many of the years, Ohio st would go to the Rose Bowl, Big 8 champ to the Cotton, etc, anyways many of those years there was no clear cut champ, at least now the systme is better but of course not perfect, and in any playoff system there will be a lot of SEC whiners any way.

Top Daddy, I would say that OSU matches up well with Bama historically, so does Mich, ND, other teams, Bama won 5 titles before 1950 as you say, but the game was much different then, who the hell was even around in the 1920's? How many bowl games were there? Who voted? Are these legit titles?

Shakeitup, you dumbass I believe the argument was OSU vs. the SEC and I stated that OSU would struggle to even compete in the SEC.  So if you dont think that Florida and Bama could beat OSU thats your deal, but all those teams that got scored on by Arkansas and those losing to hapless Tennessee's and giving up points to Troy would probably give Ohio State way more then they could handle.  Im sorry to break this to you, the rest of the Ohio State nation, and the rest of the Big Ten, its just a higher caliber of football being played down here in the South.  Florida proved it last year, App St. proved it in Ann Arbor and if LSU plays Ohio State this year then the Tigers will drive the point home in New Orleans.  War Ohio State being overrated.

Bama is a team of the past. Your best days are about 30 years ago, now Bama is nothing more than an average SEC program, and it doesn't look like anything will change. Not meaning to be disrespectful, but it iws the way it is, and Bama should get used to playing in the Peach bowl or Music City bowl or whatever.

The last 3 bowl sesons, the Big 10 is 5-3 vs the SEC. How is that possible if the SEC is SO much better than the Big 10. Could it be an illusion, that the SEC fans think everyone is so great because noone dominates?
