IF the "BEST TEAM EVER" gets to the BCS (they are not there yet) I know you will give me 10 points if I take the other team.  Any amount up to $5000..  Surely, THE BEST TEAM EVER can give up that many points and win, easily.  We can get KOAJ to hold the money and give him 5% for doing that.  Yes, they are a really good team and got me out against Penn State.

If Florida got lucky last year, then Ohio State pulled off the largest miracle in football history in 2002.

There are at least 3 teams in the Big East that would beat OSU in a bowl game, the Big Ten sucks this year so it doesn't take much for a mediocore team like OSU to look dominant.

OK, I say that if the Buckeyes run the table and continue to win like they have, and then dominate in the BCS champ game, they will be ranked as 1 one of the best teams ever. As for the guy wanting the 10 points in the BCS Champ game, they won't be 10 point chalk, on a neutral field. That being said, Oh St will whip whatever opponent put in front of them. And last year doesn't have a thing to do with anything.

It's threads like this that make me cheer and hope and pray for an OSU/LSU final.  LSU would bitch slap this team, Oklahoma would as well, Arizona State/Oregon would simply outscore them, and I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see BC beat them.

Best team ever?  You have got to be fucking kidding me.  I can't believe this is the first thread I read today.

Please tell me you are not serious. Do you have any idea of a attribute called team speed? The Big Ten is notorious for being big and slow. This year isn't much different. That is the reason they lost to Florida last year. Speed kills and the Big Ten has a huge lack of it. (Michigan, Penn St. , Purdue, Wisconsin) All these teams even look slow when they play. But Ohio St. is a very good team. Emphais on the word team and they have a great coach. Greatestest team this year - maybe - that remains to be seen. Even if they run the table I don't think anyone would in their right mind call them the greatest ever.

When Ohio State finally played a good team outside their league last year, they got smoked by Florida. Just wait till the Buckeyes play Oregon in the title game. It's going to be blowout city. Oregon went to the Big House and beat the 2nd best team in the Big Ten 39-7. Let's see if Ohio State can go to the Big House and win by that margin. I predict the championship game to be- Oregon 38, Ohio State 14.

Are you asking best Ohio State Football team ever or all time college football.  If the latter is the case, not even in the topic of top 10

All of the OSU haters come out of the woodwork with posts like this.  I would imagine most of you guys posting nasty stuff about the Buckeyes are fans of Florida, Nebraska, Oklahoma, USC, etc.  Sorry that you guys can't remain undefeated but it's just not your year.  I don't know yet if you can classify this season's OSU team as one of the best yet b/c there's so much fb left to play.  However, their offense and defense looks fantastic to date.  My vote for best TEAMS would be OSU from 2002 - they came together and won 13 games and the national championship (at 13 1/2 pt underdogs) and I would also give a vote to Texas from a couple of years ago.  Amazing performance. . .especially in that national championship game.  WOW!

    Boy, oh boy.

As a proud grad of The Ohio State University, I am baffled by your post Godfather.  While the team is playing well, most pundits had them going 8-0 given the weak schedule.  I content that it's a down year not only for the Big Ten but for all of college football in general (with no playoff system, college football doesn't do well with a continual rash of upsets).  That being said, OSU does look the best in a weak year and I am very encouraged by the superior play of their defense, the emergence of playmakers on offense, and a rejuvenated special teams.

But best ever?  Not by a long shot, unless they run the table including the BCS championship, all by blowouts.  I think right now the 1968 OSU team with Rex Kern is considered better.  There are other college football teams that ran the table mentioned above that were better than this year's team.

    That being said... Go Bucks!

everyone will have enormous doubts because of the bowl games last year of michigan and ohio state.

Big 12 is just as bad as Big 10 from top to bottom. SEC is by far the best conference. ACC is a nobody school, good defenses and horrible offenses similar to ND.

This thread is a joke, right ?  Seriously. To think this OSU team is the best college team EVER is like someone saying Notre Dame belongs in the Top Ten this year with a 1-7 record.

NL right above is right - - this isn't even the best OSU team ever  - -  the 1968 team won a national title and is considered to be one of the best OSU teams.  How about the OSU teams of the mid 90's (even though they didn't win a title) that had Bobby Hoying, Orlando Pace, Shawn Springs, Terry Glenn and Eddie George  - - all on the SAME team ?!!!!!  In my opinion, that OSU team, the 1998 team (the one that went 11-1 and should have won the national title but for a stupid 28-24 home loss to Michigan State as 4 TD favorites) was OSU's best team since 1968.  The 2002 team was terrific and deserve credit for their unblemished season but was hardly the best ever.

Newsflash - - plenty of teams that are no where near "the best ever"  or even the "best team" in a given year win national titles.   That's what makes sports so great - - coaching and pure determination and heart can help beat teams with more talent.  There are examples of this in every sport, every year.

So, stop with the best team ever nonsense and just enjoy your season and root your guys on to win out.

And one more thing - - while OSU fans on these boards hate it when people bring up "last year" and think it has no relevance, the reason people keep bringing it up is because all we heard all the same crap last year from OSU fans about how they would kill Florida and how no one except Michigan could give them trouble, etc.

OSU is the #1 team in the country right now on merit.  I'll give you that.  But to say anymore, especially stuff like best ever stuff, is just silly.  Period.
