bookie - good to see we're on the same page as with most weeks...hopefully we dont' jinx you with that crazy shit from last weekend, the 61 yd FG from SMU along with 60 combined pts from Hawaii and Utah St made for long week. Actually I didn't see the Jones injury on CIR or DB so I went charging in,thanks for heads up...still not officially on CIR however do see 2-3 weeks for Jones on volsxtra and Moore/Shaw questionable..the Jones injury hurts obviously so if Moore cannot go we may have to cancel/offset since Vols not much on WR depth, actually I had been seriously considering all 3 of those others you mention USC, Ark and Neb...still may add a couple, was hoping for 30 on Ark even though they'll score 55+ sometimes their defense falls asleep and ULM could get into 20's late

apoca, train - not as high on Vols with Jones out and Moore questionable, do think their defense is athletic enough and could do a fair job having seen previous FL and Aub (didn't do good job against Ole Miss on the road though), ducks usually a step slower on grass, Vols could run the ball well...unless both WRs cannot go in which case may cancel/offset

agree possible legitimate look ahead angle for MSU...then again ND is 16-21 over the last 3 years, unranked and nonconference, so what have they really accomplished if they beat ND, still could be a factor though like many lookahead matchups most weeks maybe the loss to CMU last year preceding ND fresh in their minds could keep them more focused at least for awhile

iowa no doubt has the much more solid team, and we usually regret going against them, however ISU values this game more (10-2 ATS last 12)....then again that's what I thought last year before watching ISU look like hell with 6 TO's

Mich St 48 FAU 10 - Owls just 1-8-1 ATS nonconference road lately and conference opener on deck in couple weeks, should be somewhat 'satisfied' getting unexpected SU win at UAB, pushed in 2008 matchup 17-0 in the slop (unless you got in at 16.5), MSU running game looked pretty good in opener and FAU not known for rushing defense, look ahead to ND is a concern, loss to CMU last year should keep MSU focused for 3 quarters. Rout.

Auburn 33 Miss St 20 - appears MSU has started a new dynasty after thrashing Memphis, still though 3-5 SU conference home lately and gave up 390 rushing in LY matchup, Tigers not very good on the road lately 2-7 SU after going 13-3 previous to that, to take the next step Auburn will need some road wins and not many good chances in SEC...war eagle

Texas 45 Wyoming 7 - Horns off flat showing against Rice including deflected TD pass after 1st half expired, Cowboys rush defense although not bad at times not likely to hold up in this spot and looking for Gilbert to be more effective, Wyoming played well to stay under number last year 41-10, Mack tired up burning up alumni money

Ole Miss 41 Tulane 10 - Old Mrs will either just give up football after losing to Jacksonville St or come out ready to play, with Nutt as coach we'll give them the benefit of the doubt, not much home field advantage lately for the Green Wave which probably means they're perfectly positioned for back door cover

NC State 30 UCF 27 - looks like UCF offense has improved, even though knights have been a cover machine 9-3 ATS last year favorable matchups for wolfpack against UCF secondary that gave up some plays last year and should allow NCS to trade points down to the wire

I agree.  Been saying that Miss St, in Mullen's second year, will shock a lot of people this season.  My shock prediction of the season was/is that Mississippi State will finish second behond Bama in the West.

I think this will be a great game - probably one of the games of the week.  Before the season started I was pointing to this game and hoping I could get something close to 7 points by kickoff.  That eveidently isn't going to happen.  At +2 this game will probably be a no-play for me, but I would defeinitely lean Bulldogs at home with revenge on their mind.

LSU 30 Vandy 10....Dores losing 6 of 7 SEC matchups at home lately by DD, LSU offense slightly improved although still not very good should score enough to separate

Houston 55 UTEP 28...revenge spot after Miners 58-41 beatdown last year, key to beating Houston is running game and Buckram is hobbling

Oregon 24 Tennessee 19...not sure how the Vols will hold the powerful ducks under 70 however we'll give them a shot with running game and home crowd on grass...assumming WR Moore can go (with WR Jones already likely out) otherwise may cancel/offset

Okla St 38 Troy 21 - OSU and Hunter should be able to score some against fairly inexperienced Troy defense, new QB Robinson not likely to match scores the entire way, best of 3 matchup after Troy upset in 07 and OSU 55-24 win in 08

Temple 24 C Mich 23 - probably not many give CMU a shot here with LeFevour gone, chips still play pretty good defense and not convinced Pierce is fully healthy after 3.8ypc against nova

Oklahoma 28 Florida St 27...we'll find out if noles have a defense this year, if they do Jones is just not that good and Ponder can keep them in this one with OU DL banged up

Iowa 21 Iowa St 17 - based on previous game means more to ISU...10-2 ATS lately where yes they were overmatched just as they are here (DD dog in most years), then again it was 10-1 before last year so cyclones could easily get killed 35-3 again

Nebraska 45 Idaho 10 - guess that Huskers could be looking forward to UW which is a bit like looking ahead to ND since the huskies were 5-7 last year, more concerned about Martinez lack of ability to pass if Vandals run defense can hold up...seems unlikely since similar running QB Kaepernick for nevada ran for a couple bills so expecting Martinez to do some damage

Boston Coll 33 Kent St 9 - KSU offense not much luck in last couple matchups averaging 3.5 ppg, some concern about BC lack of WRs although Coleman showed he may be able to step up along with pretty good TE/HBs, BC OL should open some holes for Harris (and solid backups) against smallish KSU DL

Rutgers 27 Florida Intl 15 - FIU played pretty well in similar home dog spots against USF and MD last couple years with similarly not very good teams, game means more to FIU and could have improved QB play with Carroll (MSU transfer) or Younger...unless Carroll plays like he did in Starkville

NO.....Reliant being an indoor grass field has a large CROWN......to allow for drainage....as Brett Favre will tell you...this takes a while to get used to (Texas stadium had huge crown...he was bad )

Cowboys are in transition from 3-4 to 4-3.....and moved 2 starting LB's to DE.....vs the Thunderbirds of S Utah LW .....(7/7 starters from 5-6 ....in '09 allowed 5.4/rush....rushed for 3.8yds/carry).....couldn't run or stop S Utah (who ran for 191....4.5/rush)....RB's av 7.0/rush........Wyoming only 36 rushing (1.4/rush)

Wyoming strong dog last year ....but got killed on road vs strong teams....lost 52-0 at BYU.....45-10  at TCU
