This game all comes down to Nebraska's suspect D-Line and the inept coaching of Sir Callahan.
New OC Sean Watson will be calling the plays this year and this guy definitely knows what he is doing. Watson is a great coordinator and Callahan won't mess with his playcalling. Now we just need Billy to manage the clock and personnel better throughout the game.

I have not even heard this rumor. If that was the case why'd Norvell leave? Well LA is better than Lincoln I suppose but can you back this statement up with fact?

guess is that watson OC in title only....keep him....get him more $ than other assistants) ......but can't confirm....problem with callahan is not down to down play calling... necessarily....BUT the BIG game changing decisions....ones which he will make anyway...if watson IS actually calling plays....callahan of course will exercise veto power whenever......

Just announced today that Nevada has suspended star linebacker Ezra Butler for the Nebraska game for academic reasons. Huge loss for the Pack and makes that 17 pt spread look that much more enticing. Grab the line now while you can.

You are really funny Calvin, everyone is on Georgia Tech and LSU, yet you don't point that out on your plays, but try to use it on a pitiful Wolfpack squad playing at Lincoln Memorial. Talked to a couple of former La Tech football guys who played there last year, they were like, man that stadium is so loud, and that blackshirt defense. Let's you know the mentality of a WAC team going into the hornets nest. I wish you know ill-will bud, but I think you are going to feel some pain week 1 with the plays you have been posting.

Not good for Nevada, losing their top 2 centers. Running a pistol offense that relies on steady shotgun snaps, not to mention the center is usually the one making the protection calls for the OL. I see quite a few Woflpack turnovers here with an inexperienced QB in a hostile atmosphere, a below average run game, lost some WR talent, and facing a tough Nebraska LB corps and secondary.

One thing I will tell you is that the team and fans in Nebraska are jacked and Memorial is going to be pumping big time. I've seen alot of young and inexperienced QBs come into Lincoln, and without fail, they fold like a pup tent, time and time again. ( the exception being Colt McCoy last season )
Nevada's QB has thrown 17 career passes, and is going to alternate with a true frosh QB who hasn't thrown one. Nevada's stud LB, Ezra Butler is suspended. They will be down to their 3rd string center. Even their coach, Ault, says they need another week before they can play this game. They aren't sure yet what they have and this is a bad place for them to be experimenting to find out.
As for Nebraska, let's just say we will be much improved from last season. Our secondary will be significantly better, QB will be better, Oline is going to be a strength. And the speculation of a poor Dline is false. With the exception of Carriker, we will be better at every spot up front.
NU plays at Wake and then hosts USC after Nevada. Callahan ( who is still calling the plays, not Watson ) will do everything possible to be sure his offense is humming for the visit to Wake and then the USC game. This isn't going to be a situation where we ease into it and rest people - we'll come out with guns blazing and do all we can to make sure Keller gets into his groove early and often. I expect NU to put up 28 in the first half alone in this one.
NU is solid in openers, winning 21 straight. Our home field alone is worth 7-10 points. I respect Nevada, but this is not last year's team. NU is going to win this one, and win big - I don't think a cover will ever be in question.
