BoomBoom your threads are required reading. Thank you for the hard work.
You are one of the few on ECU +21.
What am I missing here? ECU going into this game banged up (several players lost in the last week) with a crap defense that can't stop the run. Lattimore told us a few months back he is gunning for the single season rushing record. If South Carolina gets up a few scores ECU will be 1 dimensional and then SC will start blitzing like crazy and its game over just as it was with Maryland / ECU in the bowl game LY.
UGA is on deck but they are ALWAYS on deck after week 1 and SC has covered its last 3 openers easily. This is basically a quasi home game as I expect 75% of stands to be cocks.
By the way, I'm not bringing this "take the SEC team" sh!t into your thread as I know better. I'm an ACC guy and I'm not used to seeing USC this good, which sucks as I live in SC and tired of hearing about them being 1 game away last year from the Sugar Bowl, and this year they are going back to the title game.

First off... Thanks
Why I think ECU can stay close in this game? QB play...
Will ECU beat S.C? No. But I do think anytime you have a experienced guy under center who just threw for a million yards last season, you have a chance. S.C pass defense wasnt very good at all last year either. That doesnt mean they wont be better this year, what it means is we have to make the best assumptions with the knowledge at hand.
ECU is also under there second year in the Mike Leach passing system. ( Dont mistake there young OC as a genius, he came from Texas Tech and learned under the best ) With 21 points at a neutral site, things should more competitive then what it should be. ECU will hang around for about 2 1/2 possibly 3 quarters in this game.
Also remember this... ECU isnt scared. these guys love playing the big boys.
USC 38 ECU 27
