I hope Montana is buying time to come back to a solid program for 2013. Maybe UCLA. I know kids want to play, but leaving a quality education for a juco makes no sense when the NFL is not in the future.
I always thought if Price can repeat his magical year, maybe he would go to the NFL early opening the door for Montana to start 2 years, but looks like that has no chance.
You're right about the money thing. It should definitely help in leveling the playing field.
Washington is a team that intigues me a lot. How do you see them doing next season? How do you think they'll do against Oregon and USC? An early season trip to Baton Rouge should be a good barometer.
Hard to know how good they'll be. Holt complained that they didn't have enough talent on D to be good & I agree with him to a point. But I saw a lot of things that pointed to lack of coaching.......kids constantly out of position, no penetration by the line, blown coverages.............stuff you rarely see from a Boise-coached D, a team with likely the same talent to begin with.
Offense should be good again........they lose Polk but Callier & Sankey should make up for that...........most of the wr corp is back including frosh AA TE Sef-Jenkins. They played a lot of frosh LY so one would expect some improvement.
They could look bad right outta the chute..........LSU, Oregon, USC, & Stanford are 4/6 1st games. Hard to know if they can win even one of those right now. But I will bet they'll have some value for the 2nd hf of the season. They get SDSU @ home 1st game next year.........should get some idea if new coaching has made a difference.
They also will be playing all home games @ Seahawks Stadium next year..............shouldn't be a negative...........it'll be just as loud there.
