1969USC-
Usually i disagree with you- but you are right on- USC could hang with LSU and it would probably be a good game- Barkley will leave and that will hurt them- Lots of starters back for them and LSU will have lots of starters back as well. I thought USC was on probation next year as well?
USC gets to play in a bowl game next year, but they lose scholarships.
They have lots of freshman playing now, and that will help. It's a shame Barkley won't be back. That would have been a great team.

In 2005 in LA...complete anniliahation. The following year in Fayettville, USC beat them 50-14. That same Arkansas team won the SEC West
and almost beat the eventual NC Florida in the SEC Championship game. But ofcourse the SEC was the greatest conference in the land. No SEC wants to play a home and home with USC...ask Auburn and Arkansas how that goes 0-4. How can fans of CFB know whose the best conference if the SEC doesnt leave the South to play a game.

I agree it would be a great game. Would love to see them play. SC is playing as well as anyone in the country although beating LSU would be a tall order but I do think they can play with them for sure. . Ol Lane has done a pretty good job imo considering the circumstances.

a home and home with USC means 2 losses, at your place and at their place

Its not about selective memory! Its about why SEC teams do not play USC...SPECIFICALLY! No one was talking about KSU
Also a 6-6 team losing 10-7 at home does not qualify as an ass kicking. Neither does losing 27-20 on the road the following year...Nice try though. I guess those losses in '01 and '02 were the stepping stones to the dynasty. But it just goes to show how much stronger the Pac 10 and Big 12 were over the SEC in the early 2000s. Thanks for point that out ![]()
The CFB landscape will turn full circle in due time. It always does

USC is either the 3rd or 2nd best team right now.
They had a late collapse at ASU early in the season who they would destroy right now and a late collapse against Stanford...
2 late game collapses from being undefeated...
They have unreal talent on that team...
If Barkley returns next year this team will be scary, behind LSU of course who will also be better next year![]()

What happens when you give up 9, but only score 6? That's right! You're ppg on defense goes down.
Congrats!

Marcus Allen is a poor man's Lou Holtz. Doesn't Lou pick the Irish to win the National Championship every damn year?!
If you beat Minnesota by 2 and lose to ASU, you're out of the conversation. Sorry.

I thought Lane Kiffin was going to be USC's probation coach and be replaced once USC could attract a top coach.
But, it turns out Lane and daddy are pretty good. As long as they recruit top talent, USC is going to be dangerous.
Tenn, on the other hand, won't see glory for a long time.
No wonder they hate Kiffin. ![]()
