Joe Pa

Ill stand behind Joe-Pa all day. He got word of what happend and told the AD. Thats all he needed to do. His job is to go out and prepare his team to win football games. Being a former college player and a high school football coach, I see what head coaches go through day in and day out and he covered his ass and told the AD.

Do not get me wrong, what has happend is sickening. But I do not think Joe Paterno has to go out like this. If he never said anything then yes, axe him, but he covered his own ass and is still about to be fired. He is a legend and should be allowed to finish out the last year of his contract then be asked to step down and retire. Regardless of if they fire him or not the penn state organization is in shambles.

Ive been a Penn State die hard my whole life, but when it comes to situations like this in the gambling world. We all know who to take and take em quick before this line moves. It pains me to do this, but I love the green

I am a Joe Pa fan, and was actually lucky enough to meet him once a long time ago.  But in NO sense of the word was his only obligation to tell the AD.  If you hear of a child being molested (or anyone for that matter), you tell the AD, you go to his house and confront the person, you tell the police what you heard, you tell child services, you tell everyone you can.  It is their jobs to find out if it is true or not.  If that was your son that was in the shower with him, are you telling me you would have no ill will toward Joe Pa for not telling anyone else?

I do not think he should be implicated in any way for any of this other than "turning a blind eye" to the truth and not taking it farther.

You obviously don't have any children.  I went to Penn State and support them, if he isn't fired by the end of the week, they should all climb into holes and hide. 

This is sickening and being the individual that Joe Paterno is, he should have confronted Sandusky himself and also went to the police.  He is too old to be coaching a football team, if sitting in a press box is actually coaching.  He was also too old when this happened to probably be thinking properly and how to handle the situtation. 

The should FIRE HIM TODAY!!!!

I will assume by your naivety you have not read the indictment.  You should spend the time to read it before you come here spouting this non sense.  JoePa should never be allowed to be on the sidelines ever again and I will go as far as to say he should be put in jail.  Go read the indictment and then come back and answer these questions:

After the 2002 incident, how many more kids had their life ruined by this monster because of the inactions of many, including JoePa?  Think about that one for a few minutes.  This is bigger then football.  This is about innocent little kids being abused by a monster, all the while people knowingly knew what he was capable of yet our fear of ruining their own careers, tarnishing their repuations and damaging their universities, they let it carry on.  The kids be damned. 

I feel bad for you that as a Penn State fan/alum you are being put through this.  Its unfair to you.  But lets not sugarcoat the situation that points to one of the most disturbing decade long cover ups that took place at the expense of innocent little children.
