Moniz for Hawaii has had 3 very "weird" games this season when they were 75% (consensus on cover) or higher favorites. @ UNLV and @ SJSU. he seems to fumble the ball alot and throw some "interesting" INT's. they covered none of the games. tonight @ Idaho he marches the last drive down like he was playing against a high school team (which he was) and got them into field goal range. he proceeded to throw 2 incomplete passes and run for a loss of two yards when they were on the 15. so a field goal was kicked and they win. hes the hero to the team and fans, and got a little bonus in his pocket back at the islands.
he knows he will never wear an NFL uniform unless he orders one from nfl.com, so why not make some easy money while he can. i didnt even bet on this game but i just had to state the obvious

First off, what people said about Hawaii and the road is pretty much true, plus flat out they aren't a good team right now so many issues, if you want me to rant about it I will but I'll save you guys the pain.
As for fixing games, it's actually a thing a lot of people in Hawaii think about Moniz. I usually don't think games are fixes, there have been a bunch of fishy moments but bottom line I just don't think Moniz is that good or consistent, he's the worst QB we've had here in the last decade don't care what the stats say, Brennan, Chang even Rolovich were way better QBs, a bunch of us here in Hawaii want the team to make the switch to David Graves already but it won't happen.
Today's game, I think Hawaii should have been the right pick, I mean Idaho is like what 114th in offense? and they were starting a sophomore QB for his first game? Well they proved to suck on offense only scoring once, but Hawaii's offense struggled Moniz was off all day, his protection sucked, his receivers didn't help, by the way his pick wasn't a direct pick it was a tipped ball so there goes one of your conspiracies.
Even the last drive, yeah I had money on Haw -6, I wanted the touchdown but you look at the replay for the last play and EVERYONE was covered, he was smart to slide down and take the field goal, absolutely nothing fishy about that play just unfortunate, if anything you should be mad about Pollard not getting the interference call on the fade to the endzone on first or second down, that was your touchdown cover right there and the ball was on line.
So bottom line, not saying you're wrong but I just don't think he's a good quarterback. If it does help your theory, I have a ton of friends who bet down here and one house guy claims Jones was in with one of the big betting houses for games where Hawaii had a big spread, I would call BS but he went 6-0 fading Hawaii over a 2 year span when he said that so maybe there was something to it. That was a different coaching staff though.

I'm from Hawaii so I'll chime in here.

First I would say that, how do you know it is not being investigated? Just because something is not public does not mean it is not being investigated.
Second, Has the betting patterns changed in the games in question?
Those are questions the public cannot answer so behind the scenes there may be things going on, maybe yes maybe no. We will not know until something is made public.

They also blew the cover last week against fucking NMSU.
That line is inflated, anyone who has watched NMSU this year will know they are MUCH MUCH better than last year, and Hawaii is well much worst than a year ago, value all over NMSU in that one, Hawaii was clearly the better team but NMSU was by no means a pushover.

You can't include the UNLV game in any possible scandal talk,Hawai'i could have won by 16 and still "not covered" but instead they were just outplayed overall and lost SU by 20 points. That means that the 'Rebs covered by 5 TDs,nothing fishy there.

If the fix was in, there would be unusual betting patterns along with the poor perfromance, and that would lead to an investigation. Just a poor perfroamnce is not cause for anything, because college players have always been very inconsistent.

UNLV money line was 8-1. If you wanted to make sure Hawaii lost, you wouldn't let UH stay within 2 TDS. UH offense with a back up QB who was trying could score 2 TDS in 4 minutes. 3 TDS is a different story. If you are going to throw a game, why take even odds when you can get 8-1.
Hawaii SMOKED LaTech who is viewed as one of UH's hardest road games. LaTech played Miss St. tough, led Houston for 55 minutes and just beat USU and SJST. They are a much harder road opponent than UNLV/SJST. and Idaho. To say UH always does bad on the road is not entirely true.

you realize hawaiiALWAYSsucks off the island right?
This is not an accurate statement!
Last week in Ruston,La.,Hawaii was a 4 1/2 point dog and won SU 44-26, and in the last three years Hawai'i is 11-7 ATS on the road.
'10-'11 ~ 4-2 covered at NMSU by 7 1/2, Utah St.by 34 1/2,Fresno St. by 11 1/2,and Army by 6.They won all 4 games SU as well when they covered.
'09 - '10 ~ 4-2 covered at San Jose St. by 4 1/2,at Nevada by 19,at UNLV by 6,and at WASU by 16 1/2.They went 2-2 SU in the games that they covered.
'08 - '09 ~ 3-3 covered at NMSU by 8 1/2,at Boise St. by 3,and at Fresno St. by 24.They went 2-1 SU in the games that they covered.
This year other than the UNLV and La.Tech games, they are 0-3 ATS failing to cover by slim margins in all three, which I guess supports the theory behind this thread.

Further, UH outplayed UW for 3 quarters in Washington. If not for a 1st Quarter 3 td, deer in headlights gift, UH would have beat a upper Pac12 team on the road.

You guys have to stop with the "would have's" that's the whole point UH is terribly inconsistent, and at home they can refocus a lot better than they can on the road.
29 is right we had a few good years on the road recently but still betting UH on the road is always a shaky play.

Guys this stuff goes on all the time the problem is you have these half wits that when you lose your crying fix.Now they may be true to a point, but every week there are select group of games that are outright fixes. Then guys will say, well why do you bet on it.That point is bs,the games should be on the square plain and simple. The ncaa knows this goes on,but they are not going to do anything unless they have to.They would rather catch a kid selling a jersey or so other bs.Gambling is death to sports teams, that is why they do not push the issue. On the home page i posted on the hawaii article.I had coffee with my man this morning and he mention to me that one of there costa rica insiders said they heard the fbi is looking into to nfl crews,May be true may not.

maybe his awareness sucks and thats why he wasnt recruited to other schools...not everyone can play and make decisions like luck.
holy crap! do people live in bubbles or something?
you realize Moniz was playing football prior to this season, RIGHT??? damnit i wish i was moderator of this place... people would be banned for saying stupid shit like that, and we'd have a phenomenal population of cappers on this site...

ok guys... the "Moniz just isn't a good QB" angle is fucking ridiculous! how do people survive into their 20s being so clueless?
Moniz is not playing football for the first time this year... we've seen the guy play before, remember? i mean shit, anybody can get away with fixing games as long as they aren't a 5 star recruit, based on your logic...
hope to God none of you are heading the investigation team on this thing...
step 1... pull head out of ass! step 2... breathe!
