This is a team that lost 4 of its 5 best players as early entries to the draft, had nearly all the breaks go their way in close games, is installing a new defense, and will also be the "hunted" as defending ACC champions. I do not see who is going to step up immediately to replace those lost playmakers. Say what you want about Chan Gailey-- I don't think PJ was all that miffed about being stuck with guys like D. Thomas, Dwyer, and Morgan. GT does not reload players like those.
I think they win 7, maybe 8. 9 is very unlikely. Too many of you are assuming they'll sweep NC St, Kansas, Wake, etc. GT doesn't have that kind of talent and will likely be in dogfights in several games you are assuming they'll win easily. Paul Johnson is not immune to strange losses like this. He had them nearly every year at Navy(they lost to a 1-AA team the week after they beat ND), and has had a few at GT as well.
I think it's a pretty safe bet you'll either win or push here.
