I got the USC/UNC Under at 29.5...love that one.

I backed off of my "Best Bet" because the reports I'm hearing out of Pullman is that the Pirate's offense is clicking. That coupled with my concerns about the back end of Auburn's defense has caused me to shy away from going heavy on this play. Don't get me wrong, even though the total has been on a steady incline, I still thinks it stays UNDER - at least in the 1st half.
I know that Auburn, in an effort to protect their new QB, is going to feature a very run-heavy attack. I think this will limit the 1st half possessions to about 7-8. If the defenses can get 3 or 4 stops - and I think they will - this should stay UNDER.
I think Spurrier is going to grind it out on the ground as much as possible to prevent UNC's offense from establishing any kind of rhythm. I'm just hoping UNC's defense can get in South Carolina's way a little bit to prevent them from scoring too quickly.

First of all, I love the Kingsbury hire. He will definitely be a crowd pleaser. I'm just not ready to back him in his first game ever as a head coach.
For me there are just way too many question marks to feel comfortable about betting either side. If I did bet this game, I would absolutely side with the veteran coach over the rookie. I would probably take a shot at SMU on the ML.
My true recommendation is to look for less volatile games to wager on - particular in week 1.

I posted some thoughts on this game earlier in the thread. I think USC should win and cover the game with ease, but on the surface I'm reluctant to back a Kiffin-coached team, or fade Hawaii on the island. So neither side excites me much.

I don't see Bama running the ball that well. I see them passing at will. O-line for Bma is about the only weakness (if you can dare call it that).

I agree Logan Thomas will not find much success against the Alabama defense, and that the Alabama passing attack will dissect the Hokie secondary. I strongly disagree, however, that Alabama will struggle to run the ball - they won't - and that it'll take 40 points to cover a 21-point spread. Even though I'm supremely confident Alabama will score in the 40s, I think 28 points would do the trick.

Jimmy, What are your thoughts on Utah St? Utah State is led by 1st year coach Matt Wells and quarterbacking is Jr. Chuckie Keeton who had a fabulous season in 2012 with 3,373 yards,27 TD's passing and 619 rushing yards with 8 TD's.He will hand the ball off to Rashad Hall a Juco transfer who averaged 6.2 yards a carry there. Travis Wilson is Utah's quarterback who passed for 1,311 yards, 7 TD's and 6 INT's. and Kevin York will be the featured running back with little experience. Last season Utah State snapped a 12 game losing streak to the Utes and with Keeton at QB running the spread offense they should win this game even though it will be tough on the road. Utah only won 5 games last season and still are rebuiding so I will take the +3 points in this game. Utah State is 11-1 ATS last 2 seasons and 8-1 ATS as a underdog. I love this team this year. This program has been on the rise the last 3 seasons. Their recruiting has gone from a D- on my report card to a B....Your thoughts???

Will tail you on ole miss jimmy.....I think they are just a shade behind the LSU, Georgia, Florida tier of the SEC....we will see....
I like the mostly under betting philosophy too with regard to totals...I have found its harder to go on a long losing steak with unders vs overs...could be wrong on that, but just my 2 cents....BOL
