are you def, i've told you three times...Bell is going to run wild on a d that's missing 5 d-lineman and it's at michigan st, a team that has arguably one of the top-5 defenses in the country.  Like I said earlier, six weeks from now this spread would be between 14-17...

Hermes man please enough of the CAPS.  But you say everyone pays too much attention to returning starters.  How did Boise fair against strong defenses last year??  I watch NFL and just starting to get into college so its a legitmate question.  And for the record I strongly believe that returning starters make a huge difference especially in the first game of the season.

Southwick almost didnt win the starting job. Boise lost 9 of it s10 top tacklers from a year ago. respect your capping skills but all the research points to a Mich state cover

From my small amount of college knowledge I would have to say MSU is better than any defense than they played all last year.  Am I correct???  If I am I think its easy to say Boise with a bunch of new starter may and will struggle to move the ball.

Hermes, they're returning almost everyone...and I've seen this group play multiple times, so my eyes tell me they're top-5.  Unlike you I base my picks on players and their skill sets, not player interviews and other voodoo techniques...

Mi St also has a new QB.  

We will all know in 5 hours what the outcome is.  Hermes write up and the 8 points available at 108 juice made me pull the Boise trigger.  I cannot see a bowout for Mi St tonight, it's going to be close.

I dont know guys.  I have a lifetime bet on Michigan over Michigan state every year I have Michigan.  I obviously have lost over last few years and I plan to lose again.  MSU is a solid fucking squad.  Steller Defense along with Steller running.  Yes its Steller!

IN REFERENCE TO ME PAYING ATTENTION TO THE INTERVIEWS OF THE QB'S ITS ALL TO FIND AN EDGE ON WHO SEEMS TO BE THE BETTER NEW QB. THERES ONLY LIMITED GAME TAPE ON THESE GUYS TO MAKE A FULL ASSESSMENT. Your right the QB is huge.  But sometimes the gameplan might be running and make that qb position less important.  As in this game.  Both teams have new QBs and neither are proven so why are you focused on that.  That is the easist part of this game to cap.  You just call that part a wash and move on to other positions.

I think you are minimizing the importance of returning starters, especially for a opening road game. The rest of your info is solid. I agree Petersen is the man, but hes not top 5, hes top 3. However, this line should be MSU -10. BSU is getting respect from past results. I dont think they put it all together tonight. By the end of th season, I am counting on the Broncos being a great team. Rolling with MSU and my gut tonight.

MRQUIJA27- Boise last year put up points on everyone including TCU, Georgia and Arizona St. Michigan St last year played a bunch of inept offenses. However they were scored on at will by Georgia and Wisconsin. While I think they are pretty good they are not dominant such as a Bama or LSU.

Boise is at 8.5 now at my book, but the Boise tt moved up from 20 to 21?

What gives?

In another thread they said Heritage is at 9

Train returning starters do matter with most teams in this situation however with Boise who rotates players all year the burden is much less as alot of these guys have experience. Thats all I'm saying.

Just got home from work...I've been reading everyone's comments and the bashing that HERMES appears to be getting.  I agree with his capping on this game.  What people need to understand for Boise St.,  its not necessary a matter of personnel for their team but the system.  Same system and same coaching and a lot of guys with a lot of reps, regardless of the returning starters.   Everyone was raving about South Carolinas defense last night and they looked like sh**.  They did not impress me.  If anything it was simply Vandy's lack of production.  Same is here.  Everyone is raving about Mich St. defense and running game.  They don't need to stop them, just slow them down.  Do you guys really think that Boise ST. would schedule this type of game if they felt they were going to get blown out on national tv,,,think about it, they still have plenty to prove.  They may not win but I'm hoping on the cover.
