seems like almost everyone in here is on the same games....

NCST, TROY, OREGON, PENN ST, NEB, LSU, TEXAS, some MICH and CAL.

i like them all, but wouldn't mind seeing some contrarian opinions floating around. makes me nervous to see everyone on the same games...

I say 6-3 on that list (7-2) at the very very best IMHO... I am pounding one of those games big time though... Penn State for so many units that if I lose; I will be out of the game for whole season.... but if I win; My season is made

the consensus pick is  definitely wrong about the oregon pick.

I don't trush Troy, LSU, Michigan, or Cal.  I like Penn State and thats it.  Texas should cover but who knows I'm not laying 40.  Cal makes me nervous.  NC St. Im still thinking about doing something with that game.  Oregon staying away.  Nebraska should be on my board but I liked FLA Atlantic originally so I'm not betting it.

lets not forget the biggest of all...Minnesota laying 6.5 on the road against Syracuse.

Not completely sold on any of these, outside of Penn St and Texas, will also add Minny -6.5. Can't see how Cuse stays in this one.

Thoughts on others:

NC State is still NC State, even though Wilson is a stud

Troy now laying a TD on the road to weekday home team.. when was last time Troy covered this large of spread OOC on the road?

Oregon- Boise is like 4938-2 at home- also lost majority of starters on both sides of ball

Nebraska- Starting to like more and more, but FAU coach (not gonna try to spell it) is solid and Rusty Smith is decent? at QB..

LSU- not sold on jefferson and want to see how Washington performs with a healthy Locker- remember this team was a botched XP away from being 2-0 and beating BYU in 08..

UM- way to much uncertainty to back a true freshman laying DD to a WMU team that should compete with the MAC (last year UM lost at home to 3-9 Toledo)

Cal- 3 TD's is a lot, and Scott is as solid as they come at Maryland..

And people wonder why 85% of the bettors end up losing for the season.  The truth is that most people wager so little that it really is not that big of a deal if they just tag along, which is very prevelent in here.  You have people "suicide" wagering.  All or nothing on one game.  You have people playing 20-30 games next week, a rediculous amount.  With all the very good information that is given in this site, I am rather amazed at some of the wagers that are made.  My guess is that half of the people posting this week are gone by November.  I guess people just have to do their thing, despite the very good information given in here.

i'd say Troy and Michigan (if that is really a popular play) are both gonna be trouble... NCSt, Oregon, Neb and Cal are all questionable...
 
i'd agree with Alt... looking at 6-3 on those plays...
 
throw out Troy and Michigan and i think you can safely count on winning money with that card... 4-3 at worst... more likely 5-2...
 
 
BBallday... that missed XP away from beating BYU says more about BYU than it does about Washington... Locker or not, this team was 0-12... at best that tells me they are a one man team... and that ain't good...

As tressel mentioned, you missed Minny.  Also, I hardly seen anyone on CAL.  Maybe before the line came out there was lots of talk about taking the bears but once the line came out it scared almost everybody away or to the terps.

My guess is that your season will be made.  I too will be playing Penn St for a good amount. BOL ATL

Why are you making such a larger play in Week 1?  

I suggest just betting half of what you are planning on betting.  I hope Penn State covers for mine and your sake.

I just can't get away from a couple of things and I know no one will agree with me to justify there own position, but here goes:
 
Can anyone on this board tell me the last time Steve Spurrier lost his opener?  Hint: I looked all the way back to his Duke days and couldn't find a loss.  He might have but I haven't found one.  And I know, "They normally everyone opens the season with gimmies", but they haven't always, some of USC opening games were conference games both home and away.
 
Second, I know, you can't REALLY rely on what happen last year, (although every one is on Russell Wilson because of just that), but USC didn't loss to a bunch of crappy teams.  Vandy, LSU, UGA, Florida, Clemson, IOWA.  I also beleive if not mistaken that the first 3 were by 7 or less, not to mention BLOWING OUT NCSU last year (I know, this doesn't count this year) after throwing 137 interceptions in that game.  Granted, Wilson wasn't playing. 
 
Further, didn't USC lead the country in pass defense last year?  If not top 5 anyway.  I understand they are losing folks, so the answer is "Wilson will throw all over them"...yeah, ok.  Then I throw back that NCSU lost there "ALL WORLD" DE, so why shouldn't USC run all over NCSU defense?  I know I am going to lose this argument.....
 
just giving my humble defense of the Game Cocks, because I love them in this position.
 
BTW- also, if I'm not mistaken, wasn't everyone and there brother on Clemson last year, thinking they were "All everything", and didn't they get beat?  Two different teams, but hard to ignore...

Don't forget Minnesota, and there were a lot of Illinois.
 
One under the radar team I like is Akron.  Very talented, and they have a lot of transfers that have come from big time programs.
