David Shaw Steps Down as Stanford's HC

After 12 years.

Stepping down…..yeah, let’s go with that 

Wow, long time coming but still surprised.   Not an easy job and he had some good years and gave the NFL some players

Steps down eh?   Sure....ok.   Truth be told it doesn't matter who they get.  The chasm is too deep now between the Stanfords/Notre Dames and the SEC schools masquerading as college football teams which are really just AAA teams for the NFL.  

Was just thinkin about this last night during their abysmal showing vs. BYU. He had a good run but has been slowly circling the drain........not a big surprise.

He didn't cheat enough.  NIL is going to be a problem for Stanford.  Tiger Woods could buy the best team in California if they valued football, but they were one of the only schools to drop sports during Covid.  They just don't care enough anymore.

Nice of Stanford to let David Shaw step down and save face....

some nice QBs and RBs made him look good.

Shaw faced an uphill battle that 99% of all other FBS schools didn't for recruits because of the entrance requirements of Stanford. But the program has been on the downturn for a few years now. I'll be curious to see what he does moving forward. I've heard that's he's a pretty impressive guy. He's pretty well spoken, so we could see him getting into broadcasting soon.
