you really should change your units, your average size play should be 1 unit, instead of 30 units or whatever, so we have a better understanding of how well you're doing. Otherwise, noone takes it seriously. GL to you

HUH what are you talking about? These are all big plays to close out the bowl season. I dont care what anyone thinks. Its my money and I take it very seriously. The record is right there to explain out I am doing. Why should my avg size unit be 1 unit when I have a bankroll of 200k....

I remember you saying you had started building your bankroll when you were like 18 or something...can you share any tips on what you started with and how you built it up...more on the money management side of it I'm talking about, because you obviously have to pick winners to build it up as well...$200K is very impressive...I'm young like you and in it for the long haul so any tips from people who have been successful are appreciated...I'm sure others would also enjoy the tips too.

Since I respect your picks so much, they can often have too much influence on me. I've never posted in any of your threads because most of time I understand where you're coming from with a pick I agree with, or I just flat-out disagree and go the other way.
The TROY pick is troubling me though. When I say UNC and 30 UNITS, I get nervous. I have a slight lean towards CMU. I want to find a reason to take TROY, but cannot. So, I am hoping you can give me some insight on not only why you like TROY, but why you like it for far more units than most of your bowl picks.
SUN BELT is by far the worst conference in Division 1 football. TROY went out of conference 3 times and got beaten badly each time. The common opponent, BG, major difference in outcome. Numbers alone, TROY's defense is inferior. Assuming the QBs and RBs are even (which is a major stretch), who is more likely to get stops? I'd have to think CMU. Both teams are coming in steaming hot. Most of the matchup problems, notably in the seconday/wr are on Troy's side.
The one thing that worries me, the one rule I try to always follow in bowl games: NEVER BET A TEAM WITH AN INTERIM COACH (rule didn't work with TT, but I think we can agree that our MSU side was the correct one). Next, essentially a home game for Troy. MTSU in a similar home-like atmosphere pulled out a win for SUNBELT, I can see a similar second-half spurt happening here with TROY.
I would love to hear your thoughts behind TROY, but more importantly, why you seem to like it so much (b/c I can see the obvious reasons behind laying some dough on TROY, but 30 UNITS??! HAHA).
Great job on here. Love your stuff in the college basketball forum. Leaning TEX tomorrow as well, but I'm an ALUM so I'm slightly biased. May the gambling gods be with us.

I'm kind of with gcnmoo here, but I think you are misunderstanding the meaning of a "unit". Who says that a unit should be 1 dollar, 10 dollars, 100 dollars, or whatever. A unit should be related to each individual bettors bankroll. A common strategy is to have your unit be between 2%-5% of your total bankroll so that you can manage it easily without the chance of going bankrupt with a long losing streak. The 50 unit things are a little outrageous. If I were to play two games, winning 50 units on my more confident pick, and only 20 on my less confident pick, I would be 1-1, but up 30 units. IMO, to most people, this would skew the results and thoughts about betting. I think if you take the extra 0's off of the end, you can get a better understanding on how good of a capper one is if they have these HUGE unit wagers. I understand having the "game of the century" crap where one may want to put 10% - maybe even 20%, although I would never do this - on a single game, but units should be relative to your bankroll.
No hard feelings UNC, I do think you are a good capper. I just think that some people would respect you even more if you related your units to your bankroll instead of relating it to dollars. GL the rest of 2010, hope you are profitable.
