Glad the season is coming to an end.  I think the BCS matchups kind of sum up the season for many of us.  This just hasn't been a very good year in college football.  My handicapping was bad, I got very few breaks, the quality of football was bad and we end up with too many undefeated teams that will not get their shot at the big game.

Championship Week was actually different than I expected.  My favorite game of the week was of course the Pac10 game in which Oregon narrowly defeated the Beavers to get to a Rose Bowl.  The Georgia Tech/Clemson game was also very close and somewhat entertaining.  The Alabama/Florida game was not so entertaining and it was very one sided, however the amount of points in the game almost made it watchable for me.  The Texas/Nebraska game was flat out unwatchable, that was some of the worst offensive football performances I have seen in many moons.  They can talk about the defenses all they want but those offenses just plain sucked.  No way that Nebraska defense would hold Bama, Cincy, or Oregon to only 13 points.  Texas better have a great month of practice and preparation because they aren't facing Zac Lee this time around (he is worse than any QB I have seen all year).

Some Bowl Game Betting Advice (from an average capper)

    • don't get caught up in the lines, Vegas doesn't know anything in regards to the outcomes, the Bowl Game lines are much like the 1st week of each season where the oddsmakers don't have a great feel either and they are only trying to draw even action, the games aren't rigged, the lines aren't fishy (don't talk stupid)
    • don't let the computer be your enemy, with all the time between these games the worst thing you can do is read everyone's opinions on lines and outcomes, bet what you like when the lines open and stay off the computer, otherwise you will 2nd guess yourself, bet games you wouldn't have that lose and pass up games you should have won, I see it every year, guys start threads whining and bitching about they let someone talk them into a loser
    • matchup the conferences and motivation factor for each game and decide which team wants to be there, situational capping is huge in bowl games (like Utah vs. Bama last year & Boise vs. OU)

    My Top 10

    1. Alabama
    2. TCU
    3. Texas
    4. Cincy
    5. Florida
    6. Boise St.
    7. Oregon
    8. Georgia Tech
    9. Ohio St.
    10. Iowa

    My Conference Ratings (top 5)

    1. Pac10
    2. SEC
    3. BigEast
    4. Big12
    5. ACC

    My Heisman Trophy Results

    1. Ingram (flip flopped from last week)
    2. McCoy (flip flopped from last week)
    3. Spiller

as always, these are my opinions (the opinion of an average handicapper), if you don't agree then don't tell me about it, start your own thread, if you want winners then stay here because I will own the bowl games

Wahoo, your top 10 is dead on. Too bad you don't work for the BCS.

Agree with the outcome of the B12 game- I actually had to turn it off because it got so bad..

And great point in calling out motivation- that's the first thing cappers should look at if they have a strong lean, esp. if they are considering taking a team that was oh so close to placing in a much better bowl..

    Few that stand out-
Ore St- drops from potential Rose Bowl to Las Vegas Bowl against a potentially potent offense in BYU

Pitt- Stache blew 3 TD lead, now plays UNC in Heels own backyard

Clemson- playing in Music City bowl against the same team (Kentucky) that upset the Tigers couple years back when Clemson was regarded a top 5 team much of the pre-season

I'm just waiting on the Tar Heels and the Seminoles. I love taking the teams that lost their bowl game the previous year.

When they return most of their starters, same QB, same coach. UNC really blew their game late against WVU. Butch will have those guys focused and ready.

FSU can and will not let Bobby Bowden lose this game. How if your Bill Stewart, as nice as that fucker is, he might take it easy on them. Just kidding.

     Top 10

1 Alabama  Everything Clicking Right Now .. should Man Handle Colt Brennan(OOPpsss I mean McCoy

2 TCU   Like I have Been Saying for 7+ Weeks ..Might be  the Best team in the Country ?? Should not be Playing a Rematch vs Boise St... Guess NO BCS Schools WANTED to LOSE to either the Horned Frogs or Broncos

3 Texas    AGree , but they looks so Soft on the O-Line and Lack of a True Running Game will cost them any Chance vs Tide

4 Cincy   Might not Match Up Well vs Physical Gators...Florida Rushing Props should be a Godd play... should be Playing Boise St

5 Florida Might be the #2nd  or 3rd Best team in the Country ...Wish they were Playing TCU

6 Boise St. Would Have Liked to see the Broncos Play Cincinnati

7 Oregon Yeppp ... should Rape Ohio St.... Just Too Many Waepons ....

8 Georgia Tech???? Why The Defense Takes alot of Plays Off...Stanford-Arizona-Oregon St and Several others PAC 10 Foes (Many SEC Foes) Would beat Tech by 13+ most of the time

9 Ohio St.... Might not be in the Best 15 Teams in the Country !!! Horrible Matchup vs Ducks

10 Iowa ??   Hats off to Ferentz and Staff getting the Hawkeyes to a BCS Bowl esoecially after Losing BOTH stud DT's and the Weapons on Offense... That being Said I would Take Most teams in Your TOP 30 to beat Iowa

    Conference Ratings (top 5)

Pac10    Agree ...Really Loaded with Teams that Can Beat you on any Given Saturday... Plenty of Talent and Top Level Coaching  Staffs with Riley-PC-Kelly-Sark-Tedford--Harbaugh--etc...

SEC   Most Likely the Best , but they are a Little Overrated this year.... Should be Insane next year with Mississippi St Having a TON of Value

BigEast   Not Easy to Win at 5+ Teams in the BIG EAST... Love them in the INTERNATIONAL BOWL as a rule on OVER Rushing Props(Thanks Thorpe)

Big12   Really Down this year IMNHO... Especially Considering the Preseason Hype .... Might be the WEAKEST BIG 12 in 5+ Years

ACC Might be Better than the BIG12...UNC+BC+Clemson+Miami+Va Tech+Ga Tech

    Heisman Trophy Race

Ingram (flip flopped from last week) Why not Right ... Ran all Over Gators/// ALSO Hard NOT to PUT DT SUH with the Trophy but Defensive Players have alsmot NO CHANCE

McCoy (flip flopped from last week)  Nope. Can't wait to see him get thrown around like a Rag Doll worse than vs The Huskers... Very hard to Beat Out the White QB with Stats ...

Spiller   Nice Highlight REEL and insane Number of Long runs and Special teams Records.... But I Like  GERHART MUCH BETTER

Thought I would Comment and Talk Over some CFB and add to your Above info ...

Or is that Allowed Brother ???

Double, you can give any opinion you want and I do value your opinions, I would respond and talk to you much more about games if your typing looked like this (I just changed your original so I could read it), all those colors and font changes you use really bother my eyes for some unknown reason

Oregon is it for tonight, the rest of the lines will be up tommorrow at some point I imagine and then we can get busy with the plays, I expected the Oregon line to open at 4 so I'm very happy with any number less than that, I think they will win that game by double digits if they play well at all

straight up?  not sure yet, I need to break that game down some, but Bama sure looked great yesterday, I just don't want to get too caught up in yesterday's games because Bama wanted to play Florida in a rematch all season and Texas wanted to play for a National Title all season because they felt snubbed from last season, I will certainly have a play on the spread, I see the current line at 4.5 and I suspect that will go up to 6 or so

I would expect nothing less from a good handicapper, I'm sure most will be on the Ducks here, the only Buckeye backers in this game will be from Ohio or the famous conspiracy theorists who think the line is too small and "Vegas is setting a trap"

I knew when the matchup was set I was gonna bet Oregon, it would just depend on the spread with regards to how much, I would lay 7 here if I had too, but I knew with the respect a program like Ohio State gets that the line would be short, the Buckeyes have alot more history and a much more storied program than the Ducks, both teams will be extremely motivated here, one team just happens to be much better than the other in my opinion, I love the situation and the matchup for the Ducks

the Ducks have a month to prepare how to load the box and stop the Buckeye ground game, it isn't possible for Pryor to beat them through the air so it is a simple gameplan, so if they can hang around early then they should blow it open in the 2nd half and win by a few scores, just my opinion

could be right bro, but I don't put any stock in the Purdue/Oregon stats or results, the Ducks were shocked by what happened with their teammate at Boise and they played lousy for the first month of the season, they are a different team now in my eyes, I think they could hang with any team out there right now, especially a one-dimensional team like the Buckeyes who have the most conservative coach on earth

    wahoo,

as i certainly agree with your assessment of the bowl lines, how can vegas draw even action on the title game? wont everyone and their mother be on bama? it looks that way early on... but a lot can change from now until then.

i hope you crush the bowl season! good luck man!

    wahoo,

as i certainly agree with your assessment of the bowl lines, how can vegas draw even action on the title game? wont everyone and their mother be on bama? it looks that way early on... but a lot can change from now until then.

i hope you crush the bowl season! good luck man!

they won't get even action, but that is their goal when setting the lines, if would have opened the line at 7.5 then all the sharps would hammer Texas, 4.5 to 6 is a good number to even things out and don't worry about what ESPN or cover's members are saying bro, there will be plenty of Texas money on this game, I live in Texas and this whole state will be betting Texas, everyone I spoke to today thinks Texas played their bad game last night and will beat Alabama, this is a huge state will tons of bettors and tons of money, the state of Texas alone is enough to keep the line from shooting up these people are going to pound Texas as underdog, I can promise you that bro

thanks for the reply, best of luck to you as well and congrats on your team making the big game
