They've faced TCU a couple times and both were really good games and low scoring

that is insinuating UGA has a good defense though..

And who would you be more comfortable with..

a dude that's 37-2 as a starter and has proven to beat good competition?

Or a soph that led his team to a 6-7 season and has ? marks and just about all the skill positions and on defense..

But it also means that UGA is better defensively than what he has faced, I would rather go with a guy that has seen the highest level of competition in the most competitive league even as a youngster in comparison to a guy that has a great record due to awful competition faced.

    Really?

So what you're saying is this UGA's defense will be the BEST Kellen Moore has faced in his career?

Plus, let's be honest here.. Murray didn't beat 1 team over .500 LY..

Who cares if he plays better competition if he doesn't beat any of them..

Kellen has proven he can beat good teams.. Murray hasn't..

SatNightFever- i have tried not to insult you just because we have differing opinions- but it is getting harder and harder. You listed V. Tech and Oregon as schools Moore did well against. Sorry but i would hardly say that Oregon is known for having a good defense. Let's see- Moore is 39-2 as a starter:

And you say his stats aren't as skewed by playing these teams, year in and year out: San Jose St., Fresno St., New Mexico St., Toledo, Utah St., Hawaii, Idaho, UC Davis, Nevada, Louisiana Tech, etc, etc.

Hardly SEC caliber teams and certainly not SEC caliber defenses. I'm not saying Moore is not good but please quit smoking the "fanboy" ganja-

The game should be a good one and we can make points all day long for each team. We'll find out soon enough and i can't wait!!!

UGA will for sure be one of the top 2 defenses he has seen in his career at Boise State, hell just by personnel alone. Murray played on a bad team last year, he wasn't a reason why they lost games, he kept them in them and made a lot of plays.

Look at it this way, Moore is facing the better defense in this game than Murray is… that's all that matters

I think if Boise St. wins this game it will be because they are better coached and more disciplined at all positions. The QB play should be good for each team.

Corley- you make a great point. TCU is the best defense Moore has faced. And he was 22 of 39 for 211yds. Good stats indeed. Once again, not here to argue Kellen Moore isn't good, but to say his stats were not skewed is just plain wrong.

Corley- you make a great point. TCU is the best defense Moore has faced. And he was 22 of 39 for 211yds. Good stats indeed. Once again, not here to argue Kellen Moore isn't good, but to say his stats were not skewed is just plain wrong.

TCU is still overrated and they had a terrible qb that couldn't move the ball against Boise, they had the ball the entire game it seemed like. Moore is good but I get tired of hearing about TCU too, they play no one as well every year.

1- there's no need for name calling.. I have one opinion.. others have different ones.. no worries.. just good discussion..

2- I never said Moore's stats are not skewed, quite the opposite in fact.. just went through the "big boys" and his stats because who cares if he threw for 400 yards vs SJSU..

3- You say Oregon isn't know for good D, but in 2009, they finished #32 in total D and VT last year finished #40 in total D

4- we are forgetting the 2 games against TCU, who each year has had a top 5 defense

Listen- you can mock Moore all you want for the majority of teams he faces, but going 37-2 as a starter is insane, regardless of who you're playing, not to mention, every time one of the big boys came calling, Boise and Moore found ways to win..

Of course, clearly if you don't play in the SEC you aren't good and don't play anyone...

Jwheels- i agree. I just hope Georgia can put their talent to good use and  stay disciplined. Hopefully what has been written about their improved conditioning program and getting rid of some of the bad seeds is true. I am not a Georgia homer because i live in LSU country and they are my team. While i respect the Boise St. program and what they have acheived, i just can't believe the amount of people who are blinded by the fact that year in and year out their schedule is full of more cupcakes than Andy Reid.

Boise wins because they are the better team and Richt does less with more than any other coach in the country..

I know you hate the SEC.. but there is no way that has anything to do with TCU playing a bad schedule every year, there is no way you think they play a tough schedule.

SatNIght-  i didn't resort to name calling. And yes, i agree good discussion is a good thing among cappers. In the end, that is what we are all here for- to cap and make $$$$.  Again, i am not knocking Moore or the Boise program. I've stated many times the respet i have for the program and the fact that i think Moore is a good QB. All we can do is agree to disagree on who we think will win the game. Good luck- i am sure we will be on the same side of many other games this year!

No one is calling for Boise to be in the NT game if they win.. They do only play 2-3 good games per year.. but the fact is, they win those..

But you've got to be blind not to realize the teams Boise has beaten over the last 3 years have all been better than this UGA team..

VT was most likely not much if any better than this UGA team will be, which doesn't take much. Boise does not have as good of team this year as they did last year coming back.

Sure they played way tougher teams.. that I agree with.. but you're basing it off that a SEC team MUST have a better defense than Boise cause they have better athletes.. and that's incorrect..

Good to see the college football community back at it again. It has certainly been a while. I told myself not to discuss how well Boise State' matches up with formidable opponents and I've argued my balls off in the past. But here we go again. First and foremost, many good points were made in this thread, I may recall some of those timbits of facts in my argument.

Georgia simply has more talent than Boise State. If you don't believe me, then look at both team's recruiting class in the past few years. Georgia has been getting solid 4 to 5 star recruits whereas Boise has been lucky to get a few 3 star recruits. Does talent mean everything? No, but it can be a huge factor in outcome of a game. I'll certainly give Boise the coaching edge, Richt simply has not been very good in previous years and the bulldogs are undisciplined when the game is on the line. Home field advantage goes to Georgia, the game is in the "Georgia Dome". What really scares me is that Georgia has blown games to colorado and UCF, while Boise has won, narrowly but nonetheless big games ( TCU, VT ). And I can't back Boise because of the talent disparity and the loss of their star WRs ( Young, Pettis ). The fact that AJ green is gone should also be noted. Georgia's offensive output is significantly better with AJ on the field. I feel that Boise State also has the QB advantage.

Overall this is a game I will not bet, but if I had to I would reluctantly make a wager on Georgia. But seriously guys, why wager on this when you can play Miss ST and watch a major asswhooping.

This thread has turned into one huge argument... My prediction 5 pages ago was 24-20 Boise... With the line being at 3 I think the line will move again before game time... Not sure which way because this line has been all over the place... but if it goes down I like Boise... if it moves up I lean toward UGA

    Laroja-

Agreed- i am already on Miss. St. - Got it at 27 1/2- i think they come close to covering that by halftime. Hopefully they run up the score to improve their ranking!

Yeah- i meant to point that out- it's at 26.5 at mine- i doubled up on it at that line as well! I thought the line would have gone up so i pulled the trigger at 27 1/2- i never thought it would get to 26

What are you guys using? I use SI a Canadian book, there 73% action of Miss and the line isn't moving. I'm assuming your getting sharp action at your books.
