Boise vs. Georgia
that is insinuating UGA has a good defense though..
And who would you be more comfortable with..
a dude that's 37-2 as a starter and has proven to beat good competition?
Or a soph that led his team to a 6-7 season and has ? marks and just about all the skill positions and on defense..

I hear you, double up, and I agree. Also, as I said before (and I'm not the only one), it's not just about talent, it's about what a coach does with it, and Richt has not gotten the best out of some top shelf recruiting classes. Petersen is the exact opposite. He gets the most out of the talent he has. If Petersen were the coach at UGA and Richt were at Boise, we'd be talking a huge blowout here for the Dogs. Big game-day coaching edge to Petersen here, which is worth a lot when teams are evenly matched (and I'm not saying these two teams are) as some on this thread think..
As someone from Colorado who saw CU play several games last year, the 29 points that UGA gave up to the Buffaloes is an indictment of the Georgia defense. Colorado was 84th in scoring offense last year. It's not like CU won the game with defense, either. They were 83rd in total defense last year.

DoubleUpForLife-
Why do you keep bringing up the UCF game? Everyone knows that Georgia lost. That was last year and has nothing to do with this year.
DID BOISE DOMINATE NEVADA IN THEIR BIGGESGT GAME OF THE YEAR LAST YEAR?
What happened to the talent edge in that game?

I can....and it is SO simple.....shocked you guys can't see this !!.....they were saving themselves for this game!
this Georgia team will obviously be MUCH improved!
I promise!....offensively ?....the loss of 2 NFL caliber WR's and two top RB's will make Murray a better QB..... the others try harder!
and....losing our OL coach will make us better blockers!
cuz he sucked (left for Texas)
and our defense will be a LOT better....even though we lost our best players here too (from a D that gave up more yards/game since 1996)......as well as the ILB coach (he sucked ass too > went to Carolina Panthers)....now the other guys will try really hard
*interesting comment from DC Grantham...(in response to Richt's comments that team didn't play hard at times)...."wasn't the DEFENSE....my guys played hard!"....the fact our DC calls out our head coach publicly...will create adversity that will make them coach better!......obvious!
most importantly....we have a new strength coach and he makes us eat right !....this will make us MUCH better!...we will kill Boise!....at least by 5-6 TD's!!!

I need to start a radio show and talk nothing but college football around the year.... 365 days of it.
Some of you guys need to wake the fuck up.

Yet again the topic has swifted to LAST years teams.
Explain to me how this year's team is better after losing its top 2 RBs, it's best WR ever and key guys on the OL and on Defense..

Lose all your best players coupled with the fact that you basically got shut out by a conference USA team in your last game.
That's the key to success
Who needs depth in the backfield? Who needs depth at the OL? Hell, who cares if you lose your best receiver in school history....

Using Vegas power ratings....Nevada was (at years end)......5 points better than Georgia.....Boise ?......15 or so....
* on neutral field ...maybe close to pick em...maybe Nevada favored by 1-2'?....
that's why Boise as a small favorite makes sense......and an illustration just how far the Bulldogs fell last year......to help those hittin' that SEC opium pipe...better understand

I still can't understand the love for WAC, MWC, and other small school conferances that get all the love for going through a season undefeated or with one loss. I do think the SEC is the superior football conferance in America. However, if Boise or Nevada would have played in the SEC, PAC 10, Big 10, Big 12, ACC or any other big BCS conferance, they each would have 3 or 4 losses.
KittyKatz- no one can say how good this Georgia team is now but i can assure you they are better than Nevada was last year.
If Boise St. wins i will give credit where credit is due. Hopefully the same can be said if Georgia wins. Until the game is played all we can do is argue with each other on these forums. But it still amazes me how any school from a trash conferance can make a good run for a few years and all of the sudden people think they are national title contenders.
Food for thought: Boise St. Bowl record since 2005-
2005 Loss to Boston College
2006 win against Oklahoma
2007 loss against East Carolina
2008 loss against TCU
2009 win against TCU
2010 win against Utah
3-3 in bowl games since 2005
Georgia Bowl record since 2005-
2005 Loss to West Virginia
2006 Win Va Tech
2007 Win Hawaii
2008 Win Mich State
2009 win Texas A&M
2010 Loss Central Florida
4-2 record
Hopefully after this game everyone can stop drinking the cool-aid!

Because comparing bowl records over the last 5 years is a relevant stat in handicapping this game??
