The Qb for Ole Miss had 3 picks vs Vandy but over came that & won handily. He didnt have his game face on vs S Carolina either. I believe he had this game circled all along. Snead hasnt shown that he's the Qb that he can be & he has the oppurtunity to show the world that he's as good as people have talked about. Alabama's running back Ingram had a great day vs Kentucky last week, he ran for 140 yds & 2 td's. The difference in this game was Kentucky's 4 turn overs. When you turn the ball over 4 times to an elite team like Alabama, expect a blow out! Snead will have to avoid sacks & turnovers, he will have to use some dink passes & receivers on slants to move the chains. He must throw the ball away if he's in trouble, you cant take a chance of a fumble or an interception vs this Alabama team, they will covert the turnovers into points. Imo, this Ole Miss defense will slow down Ingram & force McElroy to pass down field & if the Ole Miss defense can get pressure on him, he will make mistakes & costly ones at that. Ole Miss's receivers must hold onto the ball. Ole Miss will try to establish the run & if successful to a degree, will allow them to open up the passing game. My prediction, Alabama 24 Ole Miss 20, but dont be suprised if Alabama loses out right!
Ole Miss is 4-0 ATS last 4
OLe Miss is 4-0 ATS last 4 at home vs Alabama
Ole Miss is 10-2 ATS as a homedog of more than 6 points
Ole Miss +6.5 (-110) $2200 to win $2000
Good luck with you pick, PTB. A couple things:
1 Forcing McElroy to throw downfield is not a bad thing this year for a more balanced Bama attack. Jones and Maze = YIKES!
2 To expect Snead to have a "break-out" game against this Bama D is a bad gamble. He was overrated to begin the season, and he is only proving this so far this year. S.Carolina D exposed him.
3 This game sets up a lot like the Alabama/ Georgia game last year. Road game, "hungry opposition", same point in the schedule. Remember the result there?
4 Finally, Ole Miss has had this game circled, for sure. But don't think Bama hasnt! The Tide has made mistakes in most of their games this year. I see a focused Bama team in this one. That does not bode well the Rebs.
Think I'll roll with Pat Dye's prediction - "Bama will score 30 or 40 points and Ole Miss won't score more than 10, if that."
