be honest, what's the most you've lost in a week?

"Last week would have been my worst losing week unit wise.  I was a real dummy and chased bets like a loser.  Went on a 0-6 run on 2 unit plays, down 12 units.....made two 6 unit plays chasing the losses and went 0-2 on those.  Was down 24 units total on the week going into Monday night....

What do I do?  Made a play to break even (not going to call it a 24 unit play because at this point they are not even units, it's just being an idiot)

My bet was Under 57 in the Saints/Pats game.  Needless to say after chasing I deserve to be in a lot worse shape than I am now....Haven't made a bet since and I'm afraid to, to be honest.  I truly believe the only gamblers that make money are those with very strict money management and Im hoping I get a little more disciplined to get there myself."

I lost $8,000 one week. Chased my money with the Vikings/Arizona game about 6 yrs ago. Vikes win they go to the playoffs. They're playin the dog dick Cards. My girl walked in the house as I had my hands on my head while the ref was looking at the replay.TOUCHDOWN CARDS. Bad beat and worst week ever...

Ironically, second worse week ever was Uconn/Duke in the final four 4 or 5 yrs ago. Chris Duhon sinks that full court meaningless 3 when the Devils were down 4. Spread was 2. I was at a huge party that night and everyone knew I had Uconn. $3,000 on the game and already down $2,500

I have learned money  management. And yes I'm still with my girl. She gives me allowance (gambling money) now and it seems to work. $50 to $100 on a game. Thats all. And funny thing is it absolutly fine with me. No more worries. It was bad

I normally play 1 unit=$100.  When i build my bankroll  I will limit # of plays and bet 2 units per play.  The most I will ever play on a game is $500 which is 5 units for me.  When people say they throw 50-100 units on a game it makes we wonder whether they truly are a "big swinger" or if their unit is 5 bucks.  For me I have to limit the # of plays and certainly put in the time doing MY OWN research.  It's so easy to hop on covers and drink the kool aid, but that will only make you broke in the end.  My advice keep it simple...3-4 plays per week, all solid plays and all with confidence. And don't be afraid to spend a little extra to buy a half pt when needed to get a key number.   Some guys on here are anti pt buying, but i can't even begin to tell you the number of times it has saved my ass.
