I agree that MSU controls their own destiny, with that said, I hear what you are saying about the system. When I started hearing that Michigan had an outside shot at a BCS, my first reaction was "wtf?" Then, as I read more about it, and listened to people explain it, it would appear "on the surface" to make sense... a 10 win 2 loss team (in Michigan) would be picked before a 3 loss team...
However, imo, it doesn't makes sense at all. MSU has to play an extra game, thus giving them the chance to lose an extra game. While, at the same time, Michigan gets to sit back and let a team lose and gain a BCS birth?
As a Michigan fan myself, going to a BCS bowl after the past 3 seasons, would be unreal. But. Michigan lost to MSU. Period. They played the game and lost. And b/c of that, Michigan State gets to play for the B10 Championship... and in no way (if they should happen to lose) should they be punished for that.

In reference to Wisconsin I saw this in one of the other posts..."the special teams has a better game".
For informational purposes, Wisconsin's special teams is an absolute mess, particularly their cover teams. Very slow and very poor tackling units up and down the cover teams. Will MSU block another punt? I doubt it, but the hidden special teams yardage sure seems to favor MSU rather than Wisconsin.
As I posted before, I think this line is awfully sharp even though as a Badger fan, I'll probably still have a small play on the Badgers just for fun.

That's my point, the loser of this Big Ten Championship (likely MSU) is punished greatly while Michigan will benefit tremendously by not winning their division A very similar scenario to what's going on in the SEC. LSU could lose to Georgia (unlikely, but could), meanwhile, we know for sure Bama ain't losing this week, so they're benefiting big-time by not even risking a loss and just staying home and watching.
As far as Michigan goes, sure, 10-2 is a great record and the way the system is set up, yeah, Michigan is probably gonna get a BCS game.
By the way, it's refreshing to communicate with a logical Michigan fan, like yourself. I work with huge homers, and all I ever hear is how good Michigan is, and how they'd kill MSU if they had a rematch. Hell, one of the guys is convinced Michigan would beat LSU and/or Bama. That's all I hear all week is Michigan-this, Michigan-that, it gets frustrating how irrational they are.

You gotta be a realist and look at it from the other side... If Michigan fans were in MSU's shoes, how frustrated would they be to see MSU go to the Sugar Bowl knowing Michigan beat them... Most Michigan fans know absolutely jack sh*t about football... trust me.. I listen to it myself...
And Bense.. tell your co-workers to relax b/c they are going to get their shot at 'Bama next year... and they better hope 'Bama does win the National Title this year so half of their team leaves for the NFL.
Right now Michigan isn't even anywhere in the stadium (probably not the parking lot) of either Bama or LSU. Sure, they have some really good players, and they play really hard... but it stops there... And even Brady Hoke knows that, continually stressing.. "we have a lot of work to do..." He's not stupid. He coached a dozen NFL players his first time around at Michigan.. and he knows he doesn't have anything close to that talent right now...
I'm actually a little worried (as sad as this may sound) for Brady's next year. He has set the bar really high.. and I actually think next year's team will be better... however, their schedule will be BRUTAL. 'Bama to start the season, At Notre Dame, At Nebraska and At Ohio State... (that EASILY could be 4 losses)... Yet "blinder" Michigan fans see this year and will expect nothing but a National Championship...
But, back to the original point.. the system is jacked up for sure... to get the chance to play in a championship game, yet get punished for losing it makes absolutely zero sense... and any logical fan has to see that..

MSU basically spotted Wisky a 14-0 lead and then basically shut down the Badger offense until Sparrty went into prevent D up 14 with 8min left w.o their leading tackler on the DL..
Very surprised Wisky continues to get so much love..
You guys don't pay attention to what happen on the field. Wisky was punishing MSU and should have went up 21-0 if Toon would have looked up after running the wrong route. Wisky's special put them in bad situations to stop their drives and help MSU score. MSU was not able to stop Wisky in the beginning of the game, nor toward the end of the game when they had the ball. This game will be a BLOWOUT if the special team perform like they are capable of. Go on ESPN# and watch the game. MSU CANNOT,CANNOT stop the Badger's run game. LOL DA Pun.

MSU shut em down for the most part.. Again, Wisky was spotted a 14-0 lead after MSU had 1 offensive snap (Baker proceeded to fumble)..
After that, Wisky was basically stopped the rest of the game until the final 7minutes or so when Sparty went into the dreaded prevent D with a 14 pt lead
and that was without Gholston, there best defender..
Not saying MSU is going to win, but Wisky just blows out weaker opponents at home, but as trouble, as does MSU, away from home
Should be a good game eithe rway, but MSU's D is too talented for a Wisconsin blowout here
and maybe Wilson played his worst game of the season because MSU's Defense is just that good.. it was by far the best D Wisky faced all year, so there really shouldn't be a surprise he struggled.. dude struggled against good defenses in the ACC as well

In the case of MSU loses and UM getting the BCS pick (very likely IMO), it has nothing to do w/ MSU losing the last game, it's bc UM is a bigger draw for the Bowl game. If UM is going to title game and then loses to Wisky, I think UM would get the BCS pick there too.
IMO, either Wiksy loses outrt or covers.

No one I trust more when it comes to Sparty sports.
Like you said in your 1st paragraph, MSU needed a perfect storm to win that game the first time around. I'm assuming Wilson has a better game, the special teams has a better game, and that MSU commits some penalties (hard to seriously believe a team can go a whole game without getting called for anything). That 1st matchup was 14-0 (yes, Wisky got handed a td lead), and Wilson and Co were driving again until a int.....Take 2 plays out of that game (that int and the blocked punt for a td), and I think you're looking at a 38-17 Wisconsin win. Not taking anything away from MSU, it was a great win, but I doubt everything goes their way this time around.....The linesmakers know this.....
Bense
This response makes the most sense period.!!!!

Penn St. alledgely had a good defense before playing the Badgers. PSU play well against Bama and most teams they played. Bama and NW were the only teams to score 24 and 27 points. The rest of their schedule (9 teams) scored 92 points. If my math is correct, that's a 9.2 average. Again, People will learn to "PAY ATTENTION" and not bet without knowing the FACTS.!!!!! LOL

This has got to be the most level headed michgan fan post ive ever read. you obviously dont frequent th MGOBoard.

I have to put a little on MSU ML(+290) here.... I think Sparty wins SU or loses by DD.... I know that sounds stupid, how can you have it both ways; but, IF Sparty shows up with an attitude, like they should, it will be a long day for Badger fans.... on the other hand, if MSU just shows up expecting the same breaks as round one, they will get a real beat down...

Quantum - Where did you get those stats on how many bets and what side they were on? I've looked for some decent numbers and can't seem to find any. Public fades are a big part of my betting. And win me money in the long run.
I like MSU in this game to cover or possible win outright. I like looking for Underdogs that can win outright, and this is one of those times I like the underdog for sure.
BOL to all!

Well, I honestly thought this line would be around Wisc -4... did NOT think MSU would be getting more than a TD. I told myself I would bet on Sparty if they were getting more than 7 and I think I'll make a SMALL play on MSU +9.5.
It's been mentioned already, but my Badgers are a different team away from Madison. While this game is not an away game, I think it will be a pro MSU crowd (60/40). Not quite the home field advantage Sparty had 6 weeks ago but should be worth mentioning.
I wanted to point out a couple things people missed/didn't mention: - P. Konz (our starting center) will not play. Not good. - I don't think MSU will be as LUCKY in special teams and block a punt but they will win the kicking game. That's one area we haven't excelled in this year. - I don't expect MSU to fumble inside their own 20 handing us a TD again. - R. Wilson is a much different QB under pressure, MSU is one team who can get constant pressure on him. I hope Chryst rolls him out to get him into space. His legs will WIN this game for the Badgers! - I am nervous about Gholston playing. We definitely took advantage of him being out in October and ran plays toward his back-up.
My prediction: Wisconsin - 31 MSU - 27
