This TCU defense shut OU down to 25 yards and Bradford with no running game ripped them for over 400 yards and 4 touchdowns before they shut their offense down in the 4th. TCU defense is no joke and is definitely a better TEAM defense than FL; shutting down a team averaging almost 50 a game; FL may have speed edges at certain positions but there is no question TCU has the better defense. That is what is so scary about Bradford is in the Texas and TCU game they had 65 yards rushing total and he still threw for close to 800 yards and 9 touchdowns; FL is lucky Murray is out because if OU gets any running game going this is going to get out of hand. Fl defense is going to have to play perfect because OU carved TCU up.

That is exactly what I have been trying to stress.  OU can and will score on anybody and they scored 35 on TCU.  I bet OU over 34- in the Florida game and I like it a lot.  It is not really asking that much out of them.  Maybe a turnover or a special teams might determine the final outcome but I think OU over the team total is the best bet you can make on this game.  I do, however, have OU on the moneyline.  It seems both of us see this game the same way in terms of matchups and I think a lot of people are discounting OU's offense while giving the Flo defense more credit than may be due.  Should be a great game but the T Tech game made a believer out of me that OU can and will get up for the big game.  I judge this team on it's own merits not on the past.

Its scary seeing how good TCU defense and how  well they can stop the run I think anyone that watched that game knows that FL might have some speed like Spikes on defense but overall TCU defense is much better than FL; if not for a couple bad plays by TCU they beat Utah AT UTAH; only losing by 3; FL hasnt played an offense in the top 25 closest 28 and now they face the most prolific offense EVER in the history of college football; they are going to have to score at least 45 pts to win this game and I just dont see that happening with that gimmick offense and Tebow and his duck passes. Bradford has to be licking his chops even if FL stops their running game OU has shown they still score at minimum 35 and that is with NO running game and Fl doesnt have the D to stop their running game.

I guess ND disproved the theory if you lose x amount of bowl games in a row you are destinted to lose and they lost 9 crappy bowls not NC and BCS bowls.

You are aware that Florida has some of the best athletes in the country right? Their Defense is no joke.

I agree that Fl defense is good but TCU team defense is much better; and OU has faced a team with much better team speed and overall team defense in Texas who gave them the most problem and Bradford still threw for 5 touchdowns; FSU and Miami alway have great athletes that doesnt mean you have a great defense. TCU defense is a much better defense than FL; if FL doesnt get to Bradford at least 4 times and stop the running game like Texas did they have no chance in this game and still may not because even with that OU was leading in that game late. I think Texas qb, offense and especially defense is better than Florida. Fl special teams and their PR could be the difference because they will have to make some big plays to beat OU. Anyone that thinks that this FL defense is going to stop OU offense to less than 35 is just kidding thereselves they have played better D's and still scored 35 with NO running game.

phark - no body here is putting down the Flo defense we are merely not giving it more credit than it deserves.  Mississippi and Alabama both got their season average against that defense.  If you think OU does not have athletes and as much team speed as Flo on both sides of the ball I think you are going to be shocked come game time.  This could be the coming out party for Madu at HB and he could be catching swing out and dump offs all night long.  This kid is a well kept secret who may be a household word when this game is over.  The loss of Reynolds at LB hurt this team and cost them the Texas game.  Venables is not much on making defensive adjustments. OU led until he got hurt and they win if he does not get hurt.  That is the one factor that keeps OU from being undefeated and looking more vulnerable than it really is.  Losing Murray hurts, they may be hurting at LB but they are deep and had a month to get ready.  Athletes will be a dime a dozen at this game it will be about heart, being prepared, and executing that will make the difference.

phark - no body here is putting down the Flo defense we are merely not giving it more credit than it deserves.

Agreed FL defense is good but when you havent faced a team in the top 25 the entire year you cant duplicate that type of team speed OU has. Gresham is going to give them nightmares and if they double him Bradford has a bevy of people to throw it to which he loves to do. I think Fl has alot of team speed but TCU showed that its not just speed that dominates a defense its being cohesive and knowing what spots to be in and heart and Texas and TCU are much better Defenses than FL and they have proven it.

Florida's athletes are 10X that of TCU, give me a break.

OU always puts up big #'s vs the no defense Big 12 then gets to the BCS and chokes.  Will be the same this year.

TSW - that line above about Florida athletes are 10x better then TCU is the joke my friend...yes, the gators have more talent then TCU, but you cannot discount TCU's D - to have OU put up 35 on them (their lowest output of the season) tells you something...1( TCU defense is damn good and nobody can run against them and 2) OU's offense is as good as advertised.  People keep talking about the BIG 12's lack of defense, well, what about the SEC lack of offensees??  Florida has not faced a top offense all year...I think the game will be very interesting....back to TCU - they completely dominated that game (aside from turnovers)...they are a very, very stout D

Florida's defense did not look that good against Bama. They were on the ropes. OK has much more firepower than Bama and will no tlet Florida off the ropes. All Florida can do is try to out score them. And that is a possibility. Should be a great game. I might just enjoy it and make a halftime play. Or just continue to enjoy it free of the stress of a wager. If you can envision a game going either way, it is a no play. The only lean I see is to the over, but 71.5 is a lot.

tcu played ou early in the year before they hit their offensive stride. they also have a good defense in a poor conference, see byu against ariz. and watch what happens when utah finally plays a good team. florida wins by at least 10

jtkut - I dont think Texas D is that good, although they are likely the best OU has played other then TCU (especially the front 7...Texas Pass D is terrible).  IMO if OU does not lose their starting MLB against Texas they win that game...it was night and day difference when he went out.  Texas got pressure on Bradford in the 2h and OU pressed and the rest is history...regarding Utah..i actually think they will play with Bama...I am not all convinced Bama is as good as advertised (not yet...as they are a very young team).  I also think OSU plays Texas much tougher then most think

Buddy whatever you smoking, I wouldnt mind having some... Florida D is sooo much better than TCU. Do you really believe that TCU D is better than FLA. Goodness my friend its people like you that make me POUND FLORIDA. I live in ohio and I remember when everyone said how good Ohio State offense was and how they already played the "best defensive teams like Texas and Wisconsin" and Florida wouldnt be no different. I laughed and you seen what happened. This my friend will be dejavu for the Sooners.

TCU Defense is overrated!!!!!!  / over ranked...

Fist of all: they played Oklahoma early in the season.....  This is a different team now...  if they were to play that game again  Oklahoma would put up over 70 points on them...  THe Final score would 70-3 Oklahoma.  In matter of fact I would be surprised if they could put any points on Oklahoma...  The game would probably be a shutout.....

    2.  They played in the weak ass Mountain West.....

    3.  Boise choked... and also this Boise them wasnt even that great......

    4.  Florida -  thats all I got to say about them.....  This Game will be sick...  You will never see a game like this one with so much talent and speed on both sides of the ball..   Florida's defense will be the best defense Oklahoma's seen all year long  I gurantee that.....  Remeber Big12 = no defense......  Florida's 3rd string defense is better than TCU's first team...  Florida has so many better athletes than TCU........ Did I forget to mention Speed.....

Lay-off the pipe buddy......  Your probably going to put your money on Oklahoma....

(This is funny because Oklahoma scored 57 in week 1, 52 in week 2 against CINCINATTI, and 55 in week 3 agasint Washington....I'd say they were on a roll from the get go wouldn't you?) THe Final score would 70-3 Oklahoma.  In matter of fact I would be surprised if they could put any points on Oklahoma...  The game would probably be a shutout.....

Yes, but they totally shut down Utah and Byu's offense.

    3.  Boise choked...(How did Boise choke?  TCU dominated this game just look at total yards)  and also this Boise them wasnt even that great......

I can't wait to come back to this very thread after Oklahoma is crowned the national champion.  Alabama was moving the ball easily on Florida. Oklahoma is ten times better offensively than Alabama.  Now if you want to talk about how great Florida is on offense I'll listen. Tebow is a born winner and he alone could be the difference, but Florida WILL NOT STOP THE SOONERS!

ps: nobody seems to understand that the SEC was down this year or that Oklahoma does not equal Ohio St.

It is apparent that SEC/Florida supporters cannot and will not listen to anyone outside the box.  Georgia got 398 yards against Florida, had more time of possession, but had 4 turnovers or Florida is not even here.  Let's stop talking hypotheticals about TCU's defense and take a good look at Flo and OU. Go look at the game statistics on the Texas/T Tech game or better yet watch a rerun.  TT had 205 more yards than Texas (but were lucky to win).
OU completely dominated T Tech.  If OU prepares for Florida like they did for TT they will win and maybe dominate.  Florida was on the ropes against Alabama until that idiot stepped out of bounds on his own 3 fielding a kickoff.  Turned the game around.  Alabama could have scored more than they did.  OU will score and score often.  It simply doesn't matter whose defense it is against.  Can Florida score on OU?  Damn betcha.  I still maintain the best bet here is OU over the team total (I got it at 34-).  This is well within all rules of probability.  I am betting OU on the ML also.  Hope it is a good game and may the best team win.  Personally though, I would take TCU's defense in the SEC anytime.

why is NO one talking about how pathetic OU's defense is?????????

that is the difference in this game!  Oklahoma's defense is awful.  how are they going to stop FLA???

Fla may or may not have a better defense than TCU....i myself think its a pointless comparison at this point of the season.....

BUT Oklahoma will not stop FLA that is for sure!  they just dont have enough talent and certainly not enough SPEED!

You all make some valid points...OU will score points, I think they have shown they can move the ball on any defense.  The question is, can they stop Florida?  I don't think they can because Florida is multi dimensional.  I think Florida will get a few stops simply because they will make OU 1 dimensional.

    Florida wins 41-31

Bottom line FL has not played a single offense in the top 25 and every team that has played them has got their offensive average; Bama was easily moving the ball and that is with an anemic offense; how can any FL person say that FL has a great defense they have not played one offense in the top 25; everyone says OU defense is pathetic; they have played 6 teams in the top 25 in offense including 4 in the top 10; FL hasnt faced 1 team not even 1 in the top 25; they are like the Boise State of the SEC facing crappy offensive teams and boosting their def rankings; now they face the best offense in the HISTORY OF COLLGE FOOTBALL; OU will score at least 40 if not more; OU has shown they can score with no running game and Fl cant stop their run; Fl biggest advantage is their Punt return guy. OU's defense faces the best offense in the country every year so I dont think they will have a problem with the speed of Florida.

Sorry but using TCU's defense as a measure of any outcome in this game is absurd.    Look who they have played:  New Mexico, Stephen F. Austin, SMU, SD St, UNLV, Wyoming....I don't think you can consider these teams offensive juggernauts.    And OUs defense may not be pathetic, but it is certainly not good.   They rank 112 in the nation in pass defense!   112th?    The only real defense that OU faced ranked in the top 40 was.......UT and we know the outcome there (by the way, Florida has faced 7, yes 7 defenses ranking in the top 40).    OU may very well score 40 points and yes they have a fantastic offense.    But the bottom line on this game is they will be outscored by a faster team that is more battle tested from playing in a more physical conference.
