even though Arizona Grigbsy still listed as questionable from 8/9 injury most places, he actually played in first scrimmage last Sat 8 for 31, Antolin and Nwoko were actually more effective

Starting linebacker leaves Syracuse football team after fourth practice.
Syracuse, NY -- Starting outside linebacker Derek Hines of the Syracuse University football team turned in his locker key this morning and quit the Orange. Hines, a junior college transfer from California, had been penciled in as a starter at the Will or weakside outside linebacker spot by head coach Doug Marrone
That's 2 starting LB, along w/all the other losses, new Coach & QB. I'm hitting MN again!

This is what they wouldn’t confirm to me last night. I’d guess KeJuan Phillips is now your starter at CB, Cornelius Williams returns punts full time and not sure who replaces him on kick returns. ———————————————————————————
Troy’s Calvin Ineligible for 2009 Season
Troy University head football coach Larry Blakeney announced today that defensive back Jorrick Calvin, a senior from Baton Rouge, La., has been declared academically ineligible for the 2009 season, pending appeal.
“This is an unfortunate situation for our football program,”
Blakeney said. “We are going to continue to work hard to prepare for
this season and I am sure that some other players will step up to help
us be the best that we can be.
“We are going to continue to support Jorrick as he works to complete his degree here at Troy University,” Blakeney said.
The Trojans will return to practice on Saturday morning with a 10:30
a.m. special teams scrimmage before turning their attention toward
preparation for the opening game against Bowling Green on Sunday
evening.
Another loss for Syr. Don't know if he would've seen the field on defense this year or not...
- Free safety Dorian Graham will miss the 2009 season because of an
injury to his right shoulder. A release by the university said that
Graham will require surgery.
"That's a shame," Marrone said. "It doesn't help having
someone like Dorian out. He was competing for a job in the secondary.
He would've been a heavily used special teams player. I feel sorry for
his family. I feel sorry for Dorian because of the amount of work he's
put in to be in the position that he's in this year. That doesn't help
our football team having him injured and out for the year."

Love this thread, this info. is really helpful. As an inexperienced capper, I plan on using the forums a lot this year to prepare.
Not sure on exact players, but I am in the Raleigh area and every time you turn on the radio, the Tar Heels are losing another player due to injury, so I would check them prior to betting.

https://www.collegeinjuryreport.com/ This is a good site to use early on. It seems like last year about a week or two into the season though they started charging or wanting you to subsribe to them for this info. I could be wrong about that but it seems like that's the way it was anyway.

The loss of Calvin at Troy.....really not good ...ONLY returning DB starter....2nd team all conf......that makes 3 D starters out + 2 on O...(for BGreen).......so now returning starters for week 1 are 5/2....

David McDowell's MRI came back clear of structural damage, but it sounds like he could be touch n go to play in week 1. Too much attrition, although I will say they could probably still outscore BG pretty easily. I'm just not interested in trying to fight fire with fire with a road favorite in week 1.

if no update, does anyone know the severity of his back injury? is he just resting and will be fine for Miami, or is this something that could possibly be a problem?

no specific injury......."just" muscle spasms.....(i have same thing)....spinal misalignment ...or similar > pressure on nerves (unexpectedly) > then you're DONE ......for awhile....with rest it gets better....probably will come and go throughout season....something to keep in mind when placing $$ on wildcats...

Something tells me the vols will be a good under team in spots this year---a physical team on both sides of the ball. Thats 3 wr's out so far just in practice.
