Picking up the pieces after a dreadful weekend on posted plays. That Monmouth -1.5 and only winning by 1 due to those missed free throws led to a restless night sleep overnight Sunday-Monday. Anyhew ... going to really pick my spots extra carefully from here till season's end:
Akron-Western Michigan over 158.5: These teams went for 193 the first time around, with 103 in the first half, so it wasn't just a case of fouling stupidity in the last few minutes. Akron we know plays at a breakneck pace (31st adjusted tempo as per KenPom), while W. Mich is 180th. Both teams have much higher efficiency ratings on offence than on defence. Akron is hard enough to stop with a good defence, while WM should get theirs at home. Also made a smaller play on first half over-77. Wanted to get this in early before it gets into the 160s tomorrow. 1 unit on FG, 0.25 units on half.
