THE GRIND III NCAA CBB 2013-14 '11- 51% '12 - 51%

Lesson learned today: no more moosing.  Definitely will be wary of 11-13 point spreads after this and the Gonzaga game.

Seems that spread is a sweet spot for backdoor cover shenanigans.

0-1 today for -1.1  

Florida -2.5  1 unit.  Donovan's team is full of experience and depth and has the home court.  Self and Wiggins need to get it together but it wont be in the Swamp.

Boise State +12 1 unit.  Lets try to be on the other side of the moose.  While Kentucky is talented, what Ive seen is erratic play so far.  BSU meanwhile is shooting the lights out at 50% so far.  Double double senior Ryan Watkins and Anthony Drmic lead the #1 offense in the country.  Kentucky no doubt wins but if BSU jumps out to an early lead with confidence, they should cover.  

Still, 2-1 for the day for +1.9 units.

Overall now 82-57-2 for +29.1 units.  59% but down from high of 62%...

Two plays so far for tomorrow:

Colorado State -7.5.  2 units.  Rams played the Buffs tough at home and definitely are a cut above Denver U.  Denver is 2-5 with both wins against patsies and blow out losses to everyone else.  Definitely not the tough bunch weve seen the last few years.  As for fan support, DU students are in the middle of their 6 week long break between Autumn and Winter quarter so not sure how much the fans are going to travel even if Fort Collins is only 90 minutes away.  Should be a CSU blowout.

Overall  82-59-2 for +25.8 units.  

Iowa State -3. 2 units.  Iowa State doesn't lose at home in this rivalry game, even when Iowa is favored.  Both have played decent talent and won but cant fade the home team here.

Arizona +2.  3 units.  AZ's only knock is it has played 1 road game but it handled upstart SDSU by 9.  It has absolutely handled every opponent its faced.  

Youngstown State +20.  1 unit.  Adequate enough to cover.

Wichita -6.  2 units.  Absolute blowout coming here.  On the road, Tennessee is going to get blasted as the Shockers have basically been dominating on the road versus real talent (STL, BYU, Tusla, DePaul).  Double digit win here.

VCU -5.  1 unit.  Too quick, too much talent to not be over 3 possessions.

Penn State -5.5.  2 units.  Inflated record by Princeton.  Penn Sate has played tough against Pitt and Mississippi on the road.  Should crush here.

Indiana -4.  2 units.  Notre Dame overrated.  Indiana smashing teams at home and their only loss versus Syracuse and a tight loss veruss UCONN.

Belmont -4.  1 unit.  Nate Wolters no longer plays there!

Oklahoma -12.  1 unit.  Tulsa sucks, OK decent and at home.  That simple.

Kentucky +3.  1 unit.  I wasnt convinced at UNCs last game.  Kentucky has too much talent to be getting points and I swear by the fact in crunch time Roy will screw the pooch more often than not.

Fresno +14.5  1 unit.  Will any Cal students actually be there?  finals next week.  Meanwhile, Fresno kids dont care, they're going to be working for the Cal grads anyway.  Look for them to travel well, cheer, and keep their team below 15.

Butler -3.  1 unit.  In common opponents, Butler is 2-0 and Purdue is 0-2...by double digits!

Boise State -3.  2 units.  Sure they lost to Kentucky but the experience with a top caliber team will help at home versus the Gaels.  First road game for St. Marys...wheels come off.

Kansas -5.5  1 unit.  Time for some home cooking.  Hometown refs, hometown rims, and hometown crowd.  Blowout.

South Alabama +16.  1 unit.  Gonzaga might win this game but they aren't covering by 16 on the road.  Have looked shaky away from home.

AZ win today was huge.  Shaping up OK so far....

Should of had Penn State and Drake (how did they give up so much in OT???) but record is what it is.

Drexel -1.  2 units.  Tough experienced team and has won on the road versus Illinois State and Rutgets, teams on the same level as Davidson.  Drexel has played UCLA and AZ tough as well.

2-0 for +6 units.

I got my % up pretty good in NBA and college basketball recently then started to play more games and no, that doesn't work.

Got to stick to what I see are the solid solid plays.

Dont see any interesting games ether tomorrow.

Tuesday has Florida-Memphis and Oregon-Irvine, Wichita-Bama, and Belmont-Denver.  Georgetown too - but have to see what lines are.

Was hoping Florida was getting points.

Florida -2.5  1 unit.  On a neutral court, you have to give the edge to the better team.  Better defense, better shooters.  Memphis' revenge win over Ok State makes me keep the unit bet down but the Gators should win as expected.

Tulane +7.5  1 unit.  One team that Irvine did beat was Washington on the road.  This isnt to say the Huskies are good by any means but that they are beatable.  Im worried Romar has fell into complacency with his program.

Charlotte +9.5  1 unit.  Too many points for a team that has beaten K State and Michigan.

Tennessee Tech +14.5  1 unit.  Thats alot of points.  Green Bay is still a second tier program.
