Not the best over to take between these two squads, but the UNI offense is much better at home, and assuming they get an early lead, then I get a faster pace than what either wants to play in a close game.
1* Washington State/Portland Under 144.5
Portland has played three teams with good guards who like to push the game to be uptempo when necessary. Ok, Georgia State doesn't necessary like to push, nor have that great of guards, but they still play that style with all the juco's. Washington State games have been high scoring thus far, but they've played a top 25 offense in Gonzaga and one of the worst defenses in the country in Sacramento State. Washington State's defense is a bit erratic, all over the place, and they mix in some zone which helps when Portland doesn't have the outside shooters that they brought to the table last year. Portland's defense is dead last in forcing turnovers this year, so fast breaks for Washington State will be limited. Last year's final came in at 152 and was listed at 137. Klay Thompson went off that game, and Washington State was hot from deep in the 1H. Neither team's gotten better offensively.
1* Purdue +2.5
Alabama's defense is good, however, Purdue will have some open looks on the perimeter. Taking a shot here that they continue knocking them down. Better offense, and team that should take care of the ball a bit more. More opportunities at the basket = more points.
Leans: (Ole Miss +7, Washington State PK)

Dont think Purdue will have more chances at the basket....I think they get worked on the glass and will be on the short end of the athletic stick for the 1st time....

Possibility - I'm getting out of this one. Didn't realize Alabama had revenge back-to-back's here (drank too much last night celebrating Zook's firing and if it doesn't happen this week, then i get to celebrate it next Saturday too. Win/Win).
1* Alabama ML -130
Yah, extra 20 cents for middle. Not the smartest thing.

huh?....I put a nickel on Purdue......so put a dime on Alabama?.....Nropp you're taking Alabama now right??
It's just $0.05. Put $0.05 on Alabama ML and hope for the hedge. Worst case, you lose ten cents of a penny. I backed out of Purdue and ate juice, unless I catch the middle, which I don't expect to happen. Do what you feel is best for you.

Washington State seems like a nice play tonight, but this line is troubling to me. Portland just lost to Washington by 30 in a game where they let the Huskies shoot 55% from the floor. Washington State through two games is at just about 50% fg shooting despite a very cold 1st half to open the season at Gonzaga... really, this is a team that's pretty efficient on offense and should be a lock to score 70+ tonight regardless of the pace.
I'll admit I haven't seen Portland play, but their offensive numbers seem rather pedestrian... which leads me to the question of WHY IS THIS SPREAD SO LOW?? Seriously, Washington State probably isn't as good as Washington this year, but this line is basically saying that the Cougars are closer to Portland talent-wise than they are to UW.
Anybody else think this line is a little fishy, and/or have any insight as to why WSU isn't a lock to win by a bucket?
