I like Illinois State, too. They’ve been alternating between wins and losses since January 21st, and today’s their turn to lose, except……..the oddsmakers made them favored over 26-4 Belmont.

Ever since Belmont moved into the MVC in 2022, they’ve beaten Illinois State at home but lost to them on the road. They already beat Illinois State at home back on January 24th, so now it’s time for them to lose again in Normal.

Gambler's fallacy at work...what transpired in the past will have no bearing on what will happen today. Wish handicapping were that easy, but it's not. Ill. State may very well beat the crap out of Belmont, but it won't be because they lost to them in January.

I’m so glad that Belmont protected their home court vs. Illinois State in January because that allowed me to unload today. That is, after all, how it works. Right, lol?

I bet more at halftime because Circa practically forced me to. I bet the Redbirds +1 -105 and ML +120. That moneyline in particular was super juicy. Then they invited another pair of bets at slightly IMPROVED prices! So I didn’t hesitate.

Belmont was stuck on 67 points from 7:05 to 2:55, and they just stayed frosty until the end.

Belmont went so cold that my little under 151 almost survived. I don’t mind losing that one at all because that $2,200 bet was going to be accompanied by a $4,400 bet on under 150.5. But, I decided to not bother with 150.5.

The home team improves to 8-0 and 8-0 ATS in the Belmont/Illinois State rivalry over the last four seasons.

It very well could be because they lost to them in the first game.. coaches study..and re-adjust for the re-match, plus having the HCA is a key factor

Thank you, FunKyRufus, for getting me started on looking at this game, and nice call on UNLV +1 late last night, too. Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn did everything he could to get his Rebels over the finish line, but after he fouled out with just seconds to go in overtime, someone else stepped up to win it for the home team.
