Saturday bump ... and more

Well ... another disappointing 1-1 split. Harvard up by 11 late, completely goes cold and hangs on to win by 3.

U-Mass covers against Akron, which they always seem to do. Thought they might get the outright win for awhile there. I think they're the kind of team that pulls an upset or 2 in the conference tournament.

On to a big day on Saturday. I already pulled the trigger on an early game, California -3 ... BC's popgun attack took a huge hit with Hand going down in the loss to Stanford, not sure how they keep this close, even at Chestnut Hill, but I hope they don't!

Appalachian State -1.5: Defence travels and this team is quietly on some kind of roll.

Alabama AM -15.5: Well what can you really say, MVSU has won just one game all season and it was against a non-Div 1 opponent. They've been somewhat competitive at times in the SWAC, but that's mostly been at home. Alabama AM already beat them by 20 at MVSU, now they're back home knowing they can't mess around if they want to hold serve in the battle for a double-bye in the SWAC conf tournament. 0.5 units, also 0.5 units on the Appy State play.

Tennessee -14.5: LSU is a mess. Dedan Thomas was ruled out for the season and fellow backcourt standout Max Mackinnon is hobbled by a knee injury and might not play. Vols in a five-team logjam at 7-4 in the SEC, a game behind Ark and Ky, and 2 back of Fla. After blowing big leads twice to Kentucky, I think they get the jump here and then don't mess around against a team that is clearly cooked. 0.75 units.
