I think VCU is a little over-hyped right now. You mean to tell me this HAVOC pressure D is gonna be too much in the end for Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway to overcome? Let's face it, it's a GREAT defense to speed up clueless college point guards, but these Michigan guards are basically pros right now, and they'll be going up against athletes that, like it or not, just aren't on the Big Ten's level. If it was that easy to fluster those two, wouldn't you think Indiana or Ohio State might try it with their elite perimeter defenders and blue-chip athletes?
Don't overlook the fact that the Rams are 242nd in opponents' fg% and 137th at defending the 3; and-- oh, yeah-- Michigan is in the top 20 nationally in both those categories.
Bottom line is, VCU smothered an Akron team that was hanging on for deal life from start to finish with a decimated, scared lineup, and since it was on the big stage and it's SHAKA SMART, everybody's fully on the bandwagon. This press will play right into Michigan's hands, and if they have even an average day from downtown, they'll win by double-digits.
How many ranked teams has this worked against? Pretty sure the answer is none, and Michigan was once the #1 team in the country!

Just like you said, VCU doesnt defend the 3 ball well. And when you are able to break the press, which I think Michigan will, you get a lot of open 3 point shots.
Stauskas, Hardaway and others will make those when wide open.
Conversely I can see VCU scoring as well. They are a very good offensive team so keep that in mind.
I can see a 81-76 type of game.

I like the OVER here myself.

Attend an A-10 school currently and watched VCU the entire year...HAVOC is excellent facing unexperienced...amateur guards. Look what St. Louis did to VCU as an underrated, mid major school. The key difference in those games? Guards who are not shaken easily with disciplined, confident role players who show for outlet passes. Michigan, with Burke and Hardaway (and role players), will not lose here

"like it or not, just aren't on the Big Ten's level.like it or not, just aren't on the Big Ten's level."
DannySatan this is not football, NCAA basketball is so spread out its unreal. The A-10 has plenty of good teams and some of those teams can run with the Big Ten teams, VCU is one of them. VCU can get hot just like any other team any night. Bol everyone

Are they really a good offensive team, though? 4 of their top 5 scorers shoot less than 45% from the field. To compare, every Michigan player in the rotation shoots better than 45%...

This say's it all to me. Michigan doesn't choke that lead away against Indiana last game of the season their most likely A 1 seed in this tourney at worst A 2. That loss really carried over to the Big 10 tourney. The 2nd round is where hype starts to get's bich slapped by teams that have been handling their business all year long against quality opponents. I'm not playing this game personally but I would role with Michigan here. GL with your plays what ever side your on.
