I'm a Duke fan first, but I'm from Pittsburgh and I do love Pitt. I didn't wanna believe it but it was a foul. I have no clue what the kid was thinking, he had to of thought Pitt was still losing, That is just an unacceptable mental error. You have to know the game situation at all times, no matter what. If he did realize the game was tied, then I have no clue what to say. It was just plain & simple, stupid basketball. In that situation, you just don't put yourself in any kind of a position where a foul could possibly be called. End of story.

I am unfortunately a Pitt fan and that was definitely a foul that should have been called. What the hell was Nasir Robinson thinking, if you don't have a clean shot at the rebound you go to overtime.

You can't have it both ways. A referee has one job and that is to call the game as he/she sees it. It was clearly a foul, and the Ref made the call. You cannot advocate Not calling a foul in one situation, and then call it in another.
The real question to answer is why the Pitt player did not use his head - or why the Pitt coaches did not say to his Big's "if he misses one of two, DO NOT FOUL!!! We have fouled 10+ times, so they will get two free shots."
Seriously, this is a mental mistake by Pitt coaches and player. The Butler player had him clearly boxed out, and had the rebound w/o question. You need to use some mental muscle, but I suspect that most of the college atheletes are not all that smart to begin with...

Yes. They had "even up" on their minds.

Guys, the refs have one job - to call fouls.
In my humble opinion, you don't even have players in a rebounding position with .5 seconds left. Let your player make the shot, or go to OT if he misses. Having guys there to try and out-rebound Butler was asking for it.
