The quality of basketball the first 30 minutes was high...the last 10 minutes were ugly but both teams showed how solid they are.
NCAA tourney is all about matchups... Mizzou has similar style teams in Florida-Marquette-Iona- Murray State..... any of those teams are capable of beating Mizzou depending on who is making their shots.
Memphis would be a tough matchup for MSU. They have the size inside to compete and have the athleticism on the perimeter to create problems... am really hoping St. Louis wins first round.
MSU will be a bad matchup for Mizzou.... Mizzou is a weak rebounding team and MSU is one of the best.
Mizzou has nothing inside to contain Payne-Nix and Green
The best way to play MSU is with zone defense. Especially if you have length on the perimeter. If you can make MSU be perimeter oriented you have a great chance to beat them. If you allow State to go inside out is where you get in trouble.
The bracket in my opinion sets up good for MSU.... don't see anyone on the top half other than Memphis that concerns me. And the run and gun teams in the bottom are teams we can control.
