my record on picks is irrelevant to this discussion. im not the one being hyped, im not the one who has a legion of followers who worship unc's posts. all im asking is for a little explanation from those followers as to why they think unc is so good when the record shows hes merely average at best.

steve u cant just divide uncs units by 10 its money management if unc bets 50 units and u are tailing him and u bet 1 unit then u would have to bet 5 units to keep things in perspective just a thought unc is one of many great cappers on covers and in the end u pay your bills not anyone else so who cares about how much money they say they bet or win

what i was trying to say is the net units won is very misleading bc he never bets 1U, and 10U is really his standard bet, aka 1U. also, since he is only up 206U instead of somewhere in the 350U range (the total that should be won if betting the same amount each game) means hes losing more on his bet bets than on his regular bets. finally, since his normal bet is 10U, and hes up 206U, its really only up 20.6U and being up 20.6U over 350 bets doesnt seem to be all that impressive to me.
i know thats a lot of logic, numbers, and common sense for one person to take in, but let it sink in for a while and see if its really the dumbest thing ever heard.
heres one more number to wrap your head around. if you assume an average bet of 10U, since he does do some 3U and 5U bets as well as 20U and 30U bets (i dont have the time to waste to add up all his bets), youd have 3590 units bet, and a net win of 206.5U, which is a 1.058% ROI, which is not that high by any means
I don't know who you are but you should leave immediately because you are much to smart to be here at Covers. UNC is a good capper and I like him but has much to learn. He has left about 25K on the table betting the way he does. He should flat betting 90% of the time like all of you. It take the guessing out of it and doesn't take away value from your wins. If he were to bet 5 units from the beginning of the year and once he got to say 50 units raise it to 7.5 units. Than once he gets to at least 125 units than start going 10 units etc. If you want to bet more on a game you have to earn the right to bet more on a game. He as taken away the value of his wins by betting different amounts on each game. I forgot who it was but he won a Noble Peace Prize for his work on financing. He said the best way to do a portfolio is to have an even amount on it taking away the importance of any single on stock with balance. I gaurantee 95% of traders and gamblers do not do this because it makes to much sense and will show the most profitability over the long haul. I like UNC but to bet 30 units on one game than 5 units on another and 2.5 units on another in one day is just silly.

For simplification, let's assume that there is -110 juice on every bet. If you flat bet every game, say 1 unit worth (equal to UNC's 10U "normal" bet that you claim since indeed it is "normal"), you would have $207,000 in wins and $168,300 in losses resulting in a $38,700 profit already this year in college basketball alone. So technically, if you base it on his "normal" bets, he is up 38 units, not 20. Anybody who would not be happy with this return in the middle of February would just be stupid. And as for your statement that he's only up 33U since Christmas, if you think that anybody could hit at the 62% rate he was hitting before that, you are just dumb. Every gambler is bound to go through losing (albeit he isn't even losing during this time) stretches, it's about profits in the long run. BTW, the 57% rate he is hitting after 360 bets will amount to a profit of $97,000 after 1000 bets. $50,000 per college basketball season would be just fine with me.
