A source close to Kentucky's basketball program told Sporting News
that the Wildcats have not been informed by the NCAA of an
investigation into their basketball program, in regards to a report
Friday by TMZ.
TMZ reported that the NCAA is looking into the possible relationships
of agents with two current Kentucky players and two former players.
Kentucky officials declined comment to Sporting News.
TMZ cited a source saying the NCAA was interested in at least four
players—two current and two former players who were drafted last month
by NBA teams. At least one of the former players is being questioned for
allegedly meeting multiple times with an agent, dating back to the
player's senior year in high school, according to TMZ.
The New York Times reported in
May that former Kentucky player Eric Bledsoe was being investigated by
the NCAA for a questionable high school academic record and for
allegedly receiving improper benefits from a former high school coach.
Bledsoe was selected No. 18 overall in June's NBA Draft by the Oklahoma
City Thunder, who then traded his rights to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Kentucky made a deal with the devil when they hired Coach Cal......
It might come back to bite them.
Coach Cal is the sleaziest, dirtiest coach in the country. Every stop he has had, has resulted in a final 4 banner being vacated and he bounces and never gets penalized.
Its gotta be John Wall and Bledsoe, if there really is an investigation pending. Wall sat our exhibition games and had to repay money he received from his agent, i mean AAU coach.

When Calhoun has final four banners taken away, seasons eliminated and personally is connected to provided Marcus Camby with a $30k watch, prostitutes and other gifts then you are right.
However the issues UConn had were with a player who never played a single minute and an ex manager turned agent who screwed Richard Hamilton out of millions of dollars and then went and courted Miles. No one actually knows the relationship he had with the UConn and its program.
Coach Cal has a relationship with World Wide Wes. All you have to do is do a little google search to see what kind of doors and windows that guy opens and how he pretty much runs the whole recruiting and basketball world. Its no coincidence Cal gets the top players every single year.
I also know for fact that players who have played for him have been set up very nicely for their short stays.

I live in KY, I'm not a UK fan. The reason I'm not a UK fan is because I'm a basketball fan that understands the sport. Most UK fans do not understand the sport but simply want to win. Some fans around here aren't aware of rules as simple as the single and double bonus, they just want to win. I went to Western Kentucky University and that's the team I pull for, I talk to UK fans a lot and I would estimate that around 35% of them don't realize WKU is in division 1 basketball. They believe the D1 is consisted of the SEC, IU, UNC, Duke, and UCLA. It's not a good thing when there's so many uneducated fans for one fan base but that's the reality of it and that's why everyone has their head up high around here.

According to TMZ, the University of Kentucky is being
investigated due to John Wall's long-standing relationship with his
agent Brian Clifton. Clifton, who admitted to being a
certified agent while Wall was still in high school claimed that he was
at "the end of the agent thing" in 2008 prior to founding the club team
that John Wall played on before going to University of Kentucky.
Once
Wall left college, though, Clinton got back into the agent game,
founding firm Pindar Enterprises and helping Wall negotiate his $25
million shoe deal with Reebok.
If Wall had an agreement to be
represented by Clinton prior to being in college, such would be a direct
violation of NCAA rules.
The allegations add to the many
borderline-incidents that have surfaced at John Calipari
coached programs over the years.

Brian Clifton was trying to push Wall away from ky. TMZ had no clue on there article. They just put together false information and came out with a article. There's no hard evidence or proof of Cal ever doing any wrong. Yeah stuff happen at Umass and Memphis but nothing linked to Cal so you guys keep hating. And the guy from Ky, you are a idiot and have no clue what your talking about. i would predict that UK fans have a lot better understanding of the game than WKU fans. Just sayin

If you really think that Coach Cal is not a slime ball you clearly do not follow basketball. While his name has not come up directly he is definitely behind all the dirt. What is it coincidence that every program he has been at has been investigated? I think not. Open your eyes.

You sir have no clue what your talking about. Show me some facts if your going to make those kind of cliams. Is it Calipari's fault that Camby accepted money from two sports agents while he was at UMASS? Was it Calipari's fault that Derrick Rose got someone to take the ACT for him before he had even comitted to Memphis?

No more than you know. I am just saying how can you sit there and say it is coincidence that every program he has been to has been investigated for infractions? Look at the people he has been connected with.

Kentucky yet in the news again about "possible" recruiting practices.... Now these claims are not verified but its interesting that 3 sources form schools say the recruits father asked for money.
The University of Kentucky on Thursday denied a Chicago Sun-Times
report that a $200,000 deal was made to get a top Chicago high school
basketball player to attend the school, according to a law firm
representing the university.
Sources told the Sun-Times the father of 6-10 Anthony Davis, a highly
recruited senior basketball player, negotiated a deal that promised
$200,000 from someone who wanted Davis to commit to Kentucky.
Sources from three separate universities told the Sun-Times that Davis
Sr. asked for money in return for his son's commitment, with the amounts
ranging from $125,000 to $150,000.
Calipari has had trouble with the NCAA before.
• On Aug. 20, 2009, the NCAA ruled that Simeon grad Derrick Rose was
ineligible to play for Calipari's Memphis team in 2007-08. Memphis was
forced to vacate the entire 2007-08 season, including its runner-up
finish in the NCAA tournament.
• Calipari took Massachusetts to the Final Four in 1996, but that
appearance also was vacated after an NCAA investigation determined that
Minutemen star Marcus Camby took $28,000 from two sports agents.
• In May, the New York Times reported that the NCAA was investigating
the ''academic makeover and extra benefits'' former Kentucky guard Eric
Bledsoe received while in high school in Alabama. According to the
Times, the NCAA sent investigators to at least three places in Alabama
to ask about Bledsoe.

Also regarding Camby... In an in depth article of the Camby thing during college; Calipari acknowledged he was approached by agents during the season about Camby yet he did not do anything to prevent Camby from seeing those agents or inviting them to games with his tickets.

There's certainly no way to prove this on my belief or your belief, however for the fact that UK has a much bigger fan base which consists primarily of casual fans and WKU has a much smaller fan base consisting of more die hard fans I would predict WKU fans percentage wise understand the sport more so than UK fans. Again there's no way to prove this either way but surely you'd agree that the UK fan base consists of primarily casual fans and WKU fans aren't so much casual fans.

Kentucky's diehard fans def. out weigh the casual fans and sure there are always gonna be the casual uk fan who only follows when uk is winning but yeah I'm sure wku has a lot of diehard fans like with about any school but just bc uk has a bigger fanbase and theres always gonna be those fans who have no clue about the game but the same goes for about any other school

STORRS, Conn. -- Connecticut filed its response Tuesday to allegations of major recruiting violations in its men's basketball program but won't make that response public this week.
Tuesday was the deadline for the Huskies to respond to the eight infractions cited by the NCAA in May.
UConn spokesman Kyle Muncy said the response fills up several three-ring binders. He said some information given to the NCAA must be redacted before the report is made public in order to comply with state and federal privacy laws.
He would not say if the school had self-imposed sanctions or plans to fight any of the NCAA findings.
The Associated Press filed a Freedom of Information request Tuesday seeking the summary pages of the report. Under state law, the school has 10 days to respond.
"There will not be a piecemeal release of this report," Muncy said.

The Associated Press filed a Freedom of Information request Tuesday seeking the summary pages of the report. Under state law, the school has 10 days to respond.
"There will not be a piecemeal release of this report," Muncy said.
He said the university plans to post the response on its website once it has been vetted by school compliance officials and then hold an availability to discuss the details.
The school's compliance office had not yet received a copy of the report Tuesday afternoon. Because of the size of the report and the observance of this week's Jewish holidays, that job is not expected to be completed until next week at the earliest, officials said.
The NCAA conducted a 15-month investigation of the basketball program after a report by Yahoo! Sports in March 2009 that former team manager Josh Nochimson helped guide player Nate Miles to Connecticut, giving him lodging, transportation, meals and representation.
Miles enrolled at UConn but never played. He was expelled in October 2008.
The investigation found eight major recruiting violations, including hundreds of impermissible telephone calls and text messages between recruits and coaches. Beau Archibald, who was the head of basketball operations at the school, and assistance coach Patrick Sellers resigned just before the report became public.
Besides the calls and texts, the accusations include giving recruits improper benefits and wrongly distributing free tickets to high school coaches and others. Head coach Jim Calhoun was cited for failing to promote an atmosphere of compliance.
Calhoun, Archibald and Sellers were expected to submit their own responses.
UConn as an institution was cited for not adequately monitoring "the conduct and administration of the men's basketball staff in the areas of: telephone records; representatives of the institution's athletics interests; and complimentary admissions or discretionary tickets."
A hearing before the NCAA infractions committee is scheduled for Oct. 15.
